Selling a low mileage rare 1991 Honda CRX HF with a 5 -Speed Transmission. This all stock unmodified CRX, that originated from California, is the last year made in the 2nd generation Honda CRX's ( 1988 to 1991 ). This rare HF gets 51/52 mpg highway 47/49 mpg city. Only the expensive newer small hybrids are able to obtain this type of gas mileage. The HF ( High Fuel economy ) CRX has a 1.5 Litre 4cyl. MPI (muliport fuel injection) engine. The HF's engine has only 8 valves, compared to 16 valves in the DX SI models. With the HF's lower horsepower, lower running RPMs, and transmission gearing, all relates to high fuel mileage economy. Another benefit with the HF engine and its lower running RPMs, is there is less overall wear tear on the engine, which relates to high total engine mileage can be obtained, and capable of outlasting the higher revving DX SI engines or most other cars. I own another CRX HF (1985) that has 308,000 miles has it still runs handles great.
Considering its age the CRX is in very good overall condition with no known mechanical problems. The clutch is good and the transmission is tight and shifts through gears easily. The oil filter have just been changed. The CRX runs and handles great, is reliable and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. The only items on the CRX that is not stock is the wheels chrome trim rings and the Panasonic CD sound system. The car is equipped with AC (blows cool air but not cold). The brakes including parking brake and exhaust system are in good condition. No cracked glass, and all lights, turn signals, wipers, horn work fine. The 13" matching radial tires stll have about 80% treadlife left. The CRX has never been in an accident. No major dents, only minor dings and scratches. The paint is faded in areas along with some of the paints clear coating has flaked off in places. There had been in the past minor rust repair work done on the rear wheelwells. The cars body undercarriage is solid and pretty much rustfree. The interior is clean and in good condition. There are no rips or stains on the seat fabric and carpeting. Even comes with the original CRX floor mats.
The sale comes with a clear Title, Bill of Sale, and a clean Carfax Vehicle History Report. A Haynes Shop Manual is also included. There is no ' But it Now ' price since I wish to let the auction just run its course. If the reserve is met I will consider delivering the car at a convenient location within 100 miles, and possibly further if travel expenses are covered.
