Up for auction is my all stock 1988 Honda CRX Si. I am the second owner and purchased the car last year from the original owner. It was purchased oringinally in Ocala, FL and has lived all its life in sunny, and sometimes rainy, Florida. I have a full 2" thick binder of every maintenance and repair the car has ever received since new from the original owner. The CRX is all original, or replaced factory parts and has never been modified. The previous owner had a completely new engine put in by Honda 30k miles ago (216,xxx miles). Current mileage on car is 246, 525. New clutch was done at same time as new motor install. Transmission shifts perfectly with no problems and car idles and runs very smoothly. Currently getting 35+ mpg combined.
Exterior is in great condition with a very straight body. Only one minor ding on the whole car. Would need a paint job in the future to be perfect as you can see from the pictures. The black paint has just faded over the years. I have included a picture of the only rust spot on the car which is on the sunroof panel. It is very light and easily sealed with a little silicone. It does not leak at all in its current state. A new panel is roughly $30 from Honda and is somewhat easily replaced. Apologies for taking pictures before I washed it. Those are bugs on the hood area and there was a nice layer of pollen all over when I took pics this morning. ;-) It has the original Si wheels with tires that have over 85% tread left.
Interior is in very good condition with usual wear.
New seats have been installed by previous owner.
AC works well.
Sunroof works well with no leaks.
Sony CD player with 4 newer speakers.
The only worn part is on the driver side door card at the top. Some of the upholstery has worn away as usual in these cars. Replacements for these can be found on Ebay all the time.
Maintenance and restoration done to car in the last year:
New rebuilt distributor
New NGK plug wires
New NGK plugs
New Honda fuel filter
New Honda 02 sensor
Fuel injectors cleaned and flow tested. All gaskets replaced.
Transmission fluid change
Brakes bleeded and checked
New air filter
New complete exhaust and muffler
New battery tie downs
New main relay
New speedometer cable
AC system was completely replaced 5 years ago and also converted to R134a.
Sony CD player with 4 new speakers
New front bumper
New side molding
New window tint
New steering wheel (stock one is included)
New glove compartment
There are many more parts that have been replaced over the years, which is all in the receipt binder I have.
