This auction is for a 1994 Honda Prelude S Automatic
Ownership History
I have owned the Honda Prelude since December. I used the Prelude as a daily driver to save on gas commuting to and from work. The oil and filter have been changed less than 3,000 miles ago. I parked the Prelude in the heart of Elkton, VA on the 12th of July with 142,114 miles where it will remain until the lucky winner comes to pick the Prelude up.
Current Condition
Drivability
The Prelude runs great and shifts fine. I have recently replaced the front motor mount, but it has a worn rear motor mount. The rubber boot on the passenger-side axle has a split and will eventually need replacing. I have not noticed the car burning any oil or even a change in oil level in the time I’ve owned it, but there is some gunk built up below the valve cover gasket which could indicate a slow leak. When the car is first started it idles high until it warms up so I usually give it a couple minutes before leaving my location. The two front tires have 85+% tread left but the rear tires are older and one has developed a bubble. All the tools to change a tire and a donut are include with the car as well as an additional full size spare so the new owner will have no problems if he or she would like to pick the car up and drive it a long distance home. Virginia has strict inspections and this car passed July 2008. The Prelude has a switch installed by a previous owner, possibly for security, which must be flipped to start the vehicle.
Luxuries
The Prelude has a working air conditioning system which I have never had to charge up, but it may take a couple minutes to cool down. The stereo was removed by a previous owner and I haven’t found the time to install a new one. The power windows and power sunroof open and close fine and the cloth interior is still holding up very well. The cup holder cover in the center console cracked and the plastic trim around the door panel on the passenger-side has a chip off of it.
Exterior
When I got the car, the exhaust seemed loud and I assumed, because of a previous car I owned, the manifold had cracked. I ordered a set of headers to change the manifold and had a mechanic do the swap. It turned out to have a hole back before the muffler. I bought two lengths of pipe and exhaust clamps and replaced the rusted resonator and sections of pipe which were leaking. All four rims seem to be in decent shape. Please look at the pictures for locations of dents. At the bottom of the quarter panels rust formed, was removed, and a quick Bondo job was done to fix the two, roughly 6 by 2 inch holes. The clear coat has started to separate from the paint on the top of the trunk lid, roof and hood. The hood and trunk lid have been slightly wet sanded. The right-hand side of the rear bumper cover looks like it was bumped and a bolt was used to hold up the bumper. Overall the car could benefit from a new paint job and only needs minimal body work.
Reason for Selling
I am currently preparing to move from my home in Virginia to Florida in order to continue schooling. I can only take one car out of the three I own along with me. As much as I have enjoyed the gas I have saved, it is time to part with the Prelude. I have my other Prelude listed here as well.
Contact
I am available after 4:00pm Tuesday- Friday and all day Saturday- Monday. Ebay users: Please use the ask seller a question option. Non-Ebay users: Please email me at cerverappz@gmail.com.
Final Sale
I require a $120 deposit within 48 hours, a full payment within a week, and pick-up of the vehicle within two weeks. I prefer Paypal but would rather not have the extra fees associated with using a credit card for payment unless it is the winning bidders only option. I will also accept a check but only from a bank located in the city of Harrisonburg, Virginia. It must be cashed or cleared before I will release the car. After the 1st of August, I can only accept Paypal. If the bid is below $500, I require the bidder to contact me if he or she has a feedback score below 5. If the bid is at or above $500, I require the bidder to contact me he or she has a feedback score below 10. I have a clean and clear title in hand with no liens and a bill of sale to accompany the Prelude. Thank you for taking time to view my listing.
