Vehicle Description
Original v8 Scout, but has been updated with a 1980 345 from a Scout II with apx. 60,000 miles on engine. Truck ran great until this spring, it tries to start but we think the gas is bad. Not enough time to fiddle with getting it running… but when it runs, holy cow, it pulls wheelies. 345 v8 Edlebrock 750 carb, 1” swirl spacer, K&N Xtreme air filter and flow-through lid Stan’s tri-Y headers, 3” dual stainless exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers The truck drives like an exercise machine on wheels, which is expected for a Scout. Drives nicely down the road, but wibbles a bit when you hit a bump since the caster is a bit off. Newer wheel bearings and seals, new/rebuilt tie rod & drag link. 4” lift shackles, 31” tires on aluminum slot wheels. ProComp shocks. Single-stick transfer case, locking wheel hubs, 3spd manual transmission The body needs work, as most Scouts do. Lots of rust here and there but it is restorable by someone with the time and money. We were in the process of cutting and replacing, but had a baby… that was 2 years ago and we’ve decided the Scout needs to go. The seats are original and are in ‘good’ shape, there’s a rip here and there but not bad. Bench seat in back. The bed rotted out years ago and was replaced with custom fit oak boards. By now they need to be sanded, re-stained and sealed. Radio does not work, electrical system has some gremlins in there… some lights work, other’s don’t. Speedometer does not work (cable is bad), if I remember the gauges work but who knows since its been off the road for a good while. We have (until this spring) started it on occasion and putted around the yard. Comes with many extras, I’m not sure exactly what all is in the bin in the truck, but there MAY be goodies like an electronic points conversion, caster adjusting kit, speedometer cable and more… we’ve got a whole Rubbermaid box in there. For sure it comes with: 2 good doors Lots of patch panels 4spd transmission This truck is being sold AS IS, with NO RESERVE!
