1986 Isuzu Trooper turbo-diesel
1986 Isuzu Trooper with a factory C223-T turbo-diesel motor. Runs and drives great! Engine is very clean - no leaks and does not consume oil. Starts right up without unusual smoke. Idles very nice and develops turbo-boost like it should. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts well and the brakes and suspension also feel good. The non-turbo version of this engine was installed in tens of thousands of Chevy Luv and Isuzu P'up pickup trucks in the early to mid 80's and parts and knowledge is pretty easy to come by.
I have owned many Trooper turbo-diesels over the past 12+ years and this is a good one. The truck has about 295k miles but it runs and drives like it has 1/3 that and is 10 years younger. Delivers mileage in the high 20's to about 30 MPG. If you want to wean yourself off gasoline, there's lots of room for veggie-oil tanks if you want to run on waste-oil. Otherwise, you can run biodiesel in it as it is.

tires recently replaced. Issues (since alternator repalcement)
turn signals and hazards do not work;
tach does not work;
oil pressure gauge does not work (idiot light does work).
