Vehicle Description Classic defined So popular in the UK that a cottage industry has grown around renovations (although they are hard to find in their native land) the Mark II is the most iconic classic Jag, exemplifying the directive of founder William Lyons' maxim of "grace, pace and space". The Mark 2 is well known as the car driven by fictional TV detective Inspector Morse played by John Thaw . Styling cues in the most recent and expensive Jaguar sedans are taken directly from this legendary model. The Wikipedia entry for this car is a great way to learn more ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_Mark_II ) A real rarity - the practical Mark II Concours quality cars are almost never driven - and who could, at the prices those bring. Cars in need of restoration may be looking at years of time and thousands of dollars before you can tool down to the club in unmatched style. This car is perhaps the best example of a 1962 Jaguar Mark II extant without being an untouchable show car. Beautifully maintained rust free in excellent running condition. New leather interior and wood veneer interior in excellent condition with new reline tires. Paint looks original in very good condition, chrome in good condition, 3.4 manual transmission, 6 cylinder only 47,700 miles. Unusual for a MK II, this car has been fitted with an air conditioning unit. It has not tested operational, but all of the components are there should the buyer desire to have it reconditioned. Condition Small paint imperfections on right rear of hood and windshield panel. Small dent on right rear quarter ( see pictures) The original Jaguar radio has not been tested, but appears to be complete. It is not installed, leaving the option for the new owner to use the original or install the sound system of their choice. This rare Jaguar Mark II has been expertly maintained by a certified licensed mechanic who is available for phone consultation. Serious, capable bidders are welcomed to email via eBay to set up a phone appointment with this car's expert caretaker. Terms of sale This is an estate sale for an individual that owned over 30 rare, classic and specialty cars, none of which were used as daily drivers. On site inspections are welcome and encouraged. The Executor is charged with the safety and care of the Estate's assets, so test drives may only be conducted for the purpose of inspection by a licensed mechanic. Any other arrangements will have to be approved by the Executor on a case by case basis. These vehicles are located in a warehouse near several qualified high end vehicle mechanics, and we will be happy to provide contact details if you wish to have the vehicles inspected. DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT IN A SOLID POSITION TO BUY. Bidders with less than ten feedback comments or less than 95% positive feedback must be approved by seller before bidding. Bidders not following this procedure will be removed. Successful bidder is entering into a contract to buy, not a contract to inspect and decide. All inspections must be conducted before end of auction. Descriptions of vehicles are made in good faith, but not by a vehicle specialist. VERIFY, INSPECT AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING BEFORE BIDDING. Vehicle being sold "AS IS", with no warranties or guarantees made or implied. Mileage stated as appears on odometer, but seller can not guarantee accuracy due to the custom and antique nature of most of these cars. Due to the amount of estate cars we are selling the A/C is in the Mark IX not the Mark II.
