Hello America. My name is Tom Martin, Jr. My father and I run a large wholesale business in West Palm Beach, FL. Our monthly number of units range from 200 to 300 cars, depending on the season. 95% of our transactions are strictly dealer to dealer. In fact, our business is based on supplying retail dealerships with a constant stream of inventory. And due to our low overhead, we are able to offer extremely nice vehicles for thousands less than a conventional retail dealership.
Of all the cars we sell, only about 5% of our total monthly units are put on eBay. The reason for this is that these cars are often rare or hard to find. This obviously makes them very desirable to the general public. Rest assured, if I offer a vehicle for sale, it's usually the nicest one out there.
Most of our vehicles are either new car trades or from estate sales here in Palm Beach. Our criteria for choosing a car is as follows - it has to be a very nice, thoroughly cared for example. This goes beyond initial outward appearance. Sound mechanicals and drivability are also scrutinized. Most of our cars have spent their entire lives in a temperate climate. They have not been subjected to harsh conditions such as snowy, salty roads or 100+ degree temperatures. I send many cars to the northeast, but I never buy cars from there.
Please keep in mind, our cars Do Not sit. They get one shot at a five-day eBay auction. After that they are usually sold to a retail dealership or sent to a luxury auto auction. Please do not ask if I'm going to relist a particular vehicle after the auction has ended. Call me directly to see if it's still available.
Many buyers are at a distance disadvantage. I understand that purchasing a vehicle one has never seen, touched, or driven is not easy. I am very sensitive to this. This is why I always urge people to call me directly so that we may discuss any questions or concerns. I will be more than happy to give you a detailed verbal description via phone. Additionally, we'll also assist in choreographing shipment anywhere in the continental U.S. If you wish to fly in and drive your new purchase home, I'd be happy to pick you up at the West Palm Beach International airport.
