Up for auction is a low mileage (52,285) 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 convertible. Classic Jag colors: Jaguar Racing Green over Biscuit hydes. The car is in excellent condition, for its age. All electrics/lights/ABS work PERFECTLY, including “light bulb out” warning system. Seat heater and electric seat bolsters work correctly. Ventilation system blows properly to all vents (as directed), A/C is ICE COLD. Interior wood is original and without cracks on shifter console. There are some tiny cracks around the switches next to the onboard computer, and a small crack on the right passenger vent wood. Onboard computer operates properly. Original JAGUAR radio/cassette comes with original lock code. Convertible top operates smoothly: pistons are leak free and operate clearly. Michelin Pilots just replaced and currently have about 90% tread. New “INTERSTATE” battery installed 11/07. V-12 motor still “smells” new and is “unbutchered” with any sort of aftermarket toys. Car is unaltered in anyway. Engine accelerates quickly and there is plenty of TOP END. Transmission engages and shifts properly without any issues. This is a GARAGED weekend ride with a lot of life left to live. It is a real dream to drive this JAG! Including myself this is a 2 owner adult owned car, that was never abused. Once purchased, I can put you in contact with the original owner, if so desired. I am not a mechanic, but a car lover, and from my perspective and to the best of my knowledge, things that need to be addressed: From non-use, Emergency Brake is out of adjustment and does not hold. From what I am told, this is common issue with the ONBOARD Brake Jags and self-adjusters must be re-lubricated and readjusted. Cruise control does not work. I have not had this issue diagnosed to determine the cause. General tune-up: although it starts up on first turn, since I have owned the car, except for oil/ oil filter, I have not replaced plugs/wires/filters etc. The oil pan is slightly “moist” and it was verified to me that the oil pan gasket replacement would correct the problem. The rear main oil seal or valve covers do not exhibit any oil leakage. Drivers seat has evidence of excessive wear (please see photo): this would need to be addressed. The car’s biggest issue is the outside body. The car has experienced very light HAIL damage, noticeable from about 3 feet. There are approximately 15 tiny dings (paint unbroken) that cover various areas of the metal. Having had this type of damage repaired with a previous car in the past with paintless dent repair, repairing it is not an issue for me, but maybe for a future owner. The paint is clean, but definitely needs a good compound. There are some distinctive marks in the clear coat on the trunk area (not deep scratches, but something like luggage marks). There are 2 tiny ½ inch tears in the roof, otherwise it is perfect. I debated whether to have these issues repaired and keep the paint original. However to make this car “show quality”, a future owner may want to invest in a professional re-paint. Again, I want to stipulate, as in the pictures, the car looks great from afar, however, to a purist (such as myself), it is an issue that should be addressed. I ENCOURAGE ALL THAT ARE INTERESTED TO PERSONALLY EXAMINE THE BODY FOR YOUR OWN SATISFACTION. I am the second owner of this Jag (I bought from a dealership that bought the car from the original owner). Premium UNLEADED fuel and synthetic oil, used religiously. All records are included (as pictured) as this appears to be a fully authorized Jag Dealer serviced car: original delivery receipt and original finance papers are present, unfortunately OEM window sticker not available. TOOL BAG/TOOLS (pictured in TRUNK photo), as well as the JAG OEM FOG LIGHT COVERS (pictured on the car) are INCLUDED!! I am ONLY selling this car because I have purchased an F355 spider and have to free up some funds!! Title is CLEAR and in my possession and will be signed over ONLY UNTIL YOUR FUNDS CLEAR FULLY!! A $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due within 24 hours of end of auction, and full payment and pickup of car to be completed within 7 days of close of auction. If preferred, WITH YOUR LICENSE PLATE, the car can be driven anywhere, anytime, as it is completely road worthy (except for emergency brake). I am located in Hamilton NJ, 08619: please contact me if you wish to inspect or have a mechanic look at the car. I WELCOME ALL INSPECTIONS PRIOR TO END OF AUCTION, PLEASE EMAIL ME. PLEASE DO NOT NEGOTIATE PRICE of the car AFTER AUCTION HAS ENDED! I encourage you to ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING! This car is being SOLD AS-IS WITHOUT ANY OR IMPLIED WARRANTY! THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, FINAL BID WINS the JAG!! I have the car for sale locally, so I DO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY. I have tried to be as thorough as possible in describing this car; if I omitted anything, please email me and I can address. If YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY OF THE TERMS of this auction PLEASE DO NOT BID!! GOOD LUCK! On Sep-03-08 at 07:16:45 PDT, seller added the following information: This Jag has never had any paint or body work done to it. The car is 99.9% RUST free, as it was undercoated when purchased. The floorboards and complete underneath are solid without any corrosion. There is a DIME size SURFACE rust spot on the rear fender wheel well lip, inline with the rear bumper. The car was garaged most of it's life.
