Vehicle Description 1989 Jaguar XJS convertible with a 5.7 LT1 V8 "Title Description" The reason I specified the title description as salvage, It seems that in 1998 the car was in a flood damaged in the state of NJ. However, my current NY'S title is clear (not salvage) and passed NY'S inspection. Note: An answer to some of the questions. The reason I kept relisting the XJS because of a title issue. First, I was not aware that in 1998 the car was in flood damage in the state of NJ. It had to be a minor flood because I did not notice it. 2nd time, Ebay gave me the wrong advise to list the XJS with the title as “Other”. 3rd time, Ebay said I should listed again as “other”. 4th time Ebay advised me to list it as a “salvage” title, so I did. The motor was never been in flood damage; it was purchased from a yard having a wracked Camaro several years ago. There is no visible surface rust other then the trunk. The chassis has no rust. And the V8, LT1 runs great. Thanks, Jack The car is registered and inspected in NY'S.I am selling my 1989 Jaguar XJS V12, black with tan interior, with a black convertible top showing 51,600 original miles. The car has been in storage for about 7 years and was put on the road in the summer of 2006. I was going to restore it to mint condition, however, I need the space and the car must go. The V12 has been replaced (professionally done in 2003), with a 1994 TPI Camaro V8 5.7 LT1 with matching Automatic transmission (as a package). The engine and automatic transmission have about 35,000 miles. In 2006 the transmission was rebuild. No oil leaks or noises. It is fast and smooth. For the past 2 years I was using the car only in the summers. The body has some dings and scratches. No visible rust except some light bobbling on the edge of the trunk cover (barley visible). This is a fun daily driver that runs well. The brakes, lights and blinkers all work as they should. In 2007 two tone lather upholstery interior tan with black piping was installed, also new tan carpeting and a brand new black convertible top with tan headline. This would be a great vehicle for someone who wants something for fun to tinker with for a nice low priced daily driver that still turns heads. This car looks-runs and drives great; I would drive it anywhere with no problems. What’s wrong * Passenger side small window is not working and it stays up when the top is down. (It should move up and down with the convertible top.). It sticks on the way up or down. * The convertible top (motor) suddenly, sometimes sticks on its way up or down (probably some lose wiring). When encountering this problem the top can be switched to operate manually. * AC not working, compressor and condenser are there just not connected. * Paint is 7 of 10. Some scratches and the trunk cover have some light bobbling at the bottom edge. (I have new trunk rust free that goes with the car...) * A small scratch on the windshield in result of a bad wiper. (It can be buffed out by a glass shop). * The exterior rubber seal around the windshield is warn and need to be replaced (I have the new rubber seal, it needs to be installed). * Door and trunk keys don't match. * The wood trim and varnish is showing its years. * Cruise control does not work. * Trunk key lock is broken but functional. (I have a new lock but a key has to be made). Options and modifications. * 1994 LT1 Chevy engine and transmission as a package. * Rebuilt transmission in 2006 (Approximately 1,000 miles on it - $1,800) * New lather 2 tone interior with black piping. * New tan carpet. * New black convertible top with tan head liner. * New Perally 15” tires (at least 99% threads on them). * New breaks and calipers all around. * New steering rack * New exhaust system. * New springs and shocks * All undercharge bushings replaces. * New 2008 battery. * New stereo with 4 speakers. * Custom smaller steering wheel. * Passenger and driver side power window works. * Car covers. * Tan boot cover for the convertible top. * Has a NYC inspection. I am trying to describe the car as best as possible. There are some imperfections but nothing serious that will effect your driving. Please remember it is a used modified vehicle and are some minor tinkering required. The car drives great and I would drive it anywhere. I invested thousands of dollars in the past years. Just last year for the leather interior, carpeting and convertible (German) top and tan headline $3,300. If you want a Jaguar with out the costly maintenance, this Chevy V8 is for you.
