1974 Jeep CJ5. 304ci AMC 8Cylinder engine. Full fiberglass tub and front end. Body lift. Suspension lift. 34" x 9.5" Super Swamper Tires. Auto Meter Pro Comp gauges. 3 speed manual. Power steering. Dual exhaust which sounds awesome when you get on it. 18,000 miles on rebuilt engine. I've owned it for 9 years. When I bought it the odometer read 3,000 miles as the guy before me was a mechanic who had just built the Jeep for himself. I spent $800 on repairs this summer which included a new fuel tank. This is not your typical four wheeled Jeep. I drove it on the back roads of South County only in the summertime. It has been garaged the whole time I've owned it. I'm sure it would be amazing off road, however, I couldn't bring myself to abuse it due to its age and overall nice condition. You can watch a YouTube video of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UWOdz76afs On Oct-08-08 at 19:06:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction on the mileage: 21,818 miles (as of 10/7/08)I'd like to answer a few of the questions I've been asked: Does the Jeep leak oil? The Jeep does leak a little bit of oil. When I park it in the garage, it will leave a spot on the floor maybe 3 or 4 inches around. Also, the top of the skid plate underneath the Jeep always has a film of oil on it. The leaks have been there for the past 5 years and I've not worried about it as it runs great. Does it drive, steer, and stop OK? The Jeep drives, steers, and handles fine. I regularly cruise at 60mph down the highway. It stops fine, however, it does have drum brakes all around, is lifted, and sports 34" tires so you need to leave some room between you and the car in front of you. Pictures? I've taken a bunch of pictures today to which are posted here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7136780@N02/sets/72157607862040620/ Can I see it? I invite anyone interested in the Jeep to email me or call me regarding coming to see the Jeep in person. It's located in Charlestown, RI. I can be reached at 401-290-7008 for more info or to set up a showing. On Oct-08-08 at 19:16:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Does everything work? The fuel gauge does not work. I replaced the sending unit and that did not fix the problem so it is most likely the gauge itself. All the other gauges work fine. The heater / defroster work great. The air horns I installed in the engine compartment work fine. The horn is triggered by the original horn button on the steering wheel. Not an aftermarket button. The Pioneer deck I installed when I bought it no longer works and I drive the Jeep so little that I never bothered to replace it. On Oct-08-08 at 19:26:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Are there any rust issues? There are no major rust issues. There is some surface rust on the frame but nothing major. Check out the pictures I posted of the underside of the Jeep. Does the Jeep shift OK? There is no problem with the shifting of the Jeep. It shifts the way it is supposed to.
