Up for sale today is my wifes 1995 jeep cherokee. It is the standard base model, no power windows or locks.
We have owned this car for 11 years. We had a child and upgraded to a larger vehicle so this one has been basically sitting for the last 3 years unless we need it while our other car was in the shop.
I had planned on lifting it and turning it into a off road vehicle but time and money have kept me from doing that.
The motor tranny and transfer case are all solid. This vehicle runs great and includes auto start. I have started and ran it monthly while it sat and runs strong!!
Here is a list of things that need fixed:
From sitting it will need the rockers fixed where they are rusted, the floor boards in the front driver and pasanger side are weak with some holes, they too will need patched.
It will need some exhaust work, it sounds like it has a leak.
It needs a nuetral saftey switch, sometimes it will not start in park, mainly when its damp out, but it starts everytime if you put it in neutral.
The drivers side rear door will not open from the outside, i removed the door panel and the linkages were frozen, i fixed them once but from sitting it has froze up again.
The rear windshield wiper works sometimes and sometimes it doeasn't not sure why
Headliner is starting to droop in a couple spots and the center consel latch and hinge are broken. the rest of the interior is perfect and includes front seat, back seat, and rear cargo husky liners
The a/c worked the last summer we drove it, but it no longer works, the compressor is free, and it works, not sure if it just needs charged or if there is more of a problem. I have charged it once about 6 years ago.
It is NOT inspected, it was last inspected 6-07 and at that time was emissions exempt, it will also be exempt if you decide to inspect it agian as i have only put 1754 miles on it since inspection.
Radio works with cd player but the volume is very hard to adjust you really have to push and wiggle the button to turn it down.
This vehicle could be a really good driver if someone had the time and money to give it some attention to fix some of the cosmetic things that are wrong with it, it has been a tremendous car for us and really have had no problems with it.
Or if you are looking to bulid a woods truck this is the ticket, you don't need to do anything but lift it and go bash it!
