Here is a very, very nice classic Grand Wagoneer. This gloss-black beauty has a factory overhead center console with remote keyless entry option. In addition, it has some extensive service history and a great, recent, high quality paint job. The engine received added performance accessories like premium header exhaust manifolds. This Jeep shows and runs extremely well.
You are viewing a beautiful and rare '89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The miles are indicated on the odometer. This is a car that requires no introduction. If you are looking at a Wagoneer then you already know what it is. This is the last of the classics, and a true collector car. This Jeep is in pristine shape all around. It has an eight (8) cylinder engine, and a smooth shifting automatic transmission. The engine runs smooth and is very powerful. This Jeep is completely RUST FREE with the exception of tiny rock chips on the leading edge of the hood. The jet black paint looks great and really shines. The wood on the body looks like new. The full leather interior is in great shape with no rips or tears of any kind. Overall the car looks fantastic. The carpets are clean, the headliner is clean. The wooden trim looks almost PERFECT. All power options work, but are sometimes tempermental. If you value a car for how it was serviced you will love this car. We have a folder full of service records, with most of the services done at a Jeep dealer. The invoices amount to many thousands spent to keep this truck perfect over the years. The previous owner bought this Grand Wagoneer from a Chrysler-Jeep dealership in Bend, Oregon. It was well kept in a covered garage when not in use. It is in extremely nice condition.
The exterior was repainted and wood trim applied by a high quality shop about ten years ago. The job was very, very good, however, there is a four inch spot on the cowling where the clear coat is flaking off. The wood-grain decals and trim are also very good, but the right front door decal received some minor damage at a drive-through carwash.
The mechanical components are also in very good order. It has had a carburetor replacement, regular tune up, new exhaust, new power steering pump, new fuel pump and new alternator. It also has four new radial tires and a very costly timing chain replacement, as well as oil pump with rear main seal. The beauty has been inspected by an ASE certified technician.
This vehicle was well maintained and it shows. It is probably the cleanest, best kept Grand Wagoneer on the street today. The idle is smooth and steady. The pulleys and belts are quiet as is the power steering pump.
The automatic transmission shifts well through all gears with no hesitations or slippage. The vacuum switch activated automatic locking hub 4x4 system functions well. The transfer case operates with no binding or grinding. The power brake system works well - stopping on the mark each time with no pulsation, fade, pulling, rotor surge or vibrations. The front end is tight with no pulling, pulsations or alignment problems. The power steering is precise and accurate, with no over steer or wander. The suspension feels tight, firm and smooth over pavement, with no abnormal noises.
The hood insulation was removed. All engine accessories are in new to very good working order. I do not detect any visible oil or fluid leaks I do not smell antifreeze or burning oil. There are no signs of accident repairs, major rust, cancer, or signs of any fluid leakage. All four sides of the vehicle are level above the ground. The dual exhaust system looks and sounds great, with aftermarket mufflers and chrome extension ends. There is no exhaust leak, or problematic smoke coming from the ends of it.
The windshield and all eleven other windows are in great shape with no cracks or potential runners. The inside rear view mirror is in place. The power windows, power locks, power mirrors, intermittent wipers, horn, turn signals, dual power front seats all work well. Every interior and exterior light on this truck works including the license plate light. The tailgate power window works from both power switches. The vehicle has the original factory cassette player which works well in all modes of operation. This model is equipped with a factory air conditioner which blasts ice cold air throughout the cabin. The heater blows hot and heats very well in all fan speed selections. The gauges all work and there is no indication of any problem with the electrical system.
The aluminum bumpers are straight and have a good tone to them. The paint is still very vibrant, and has a good shine and luster to it. All the seams and panels are straight, and the doors, hood, tailgate, etc, open and close with no problem. The factory original roof rack is water-tight and in good working order. There are no dents or valleys on the roof.
The interior paint is gloss black and very clean with no signs of fading. The rich burgundy leather seats and center folding console in very good condition, with little signs of wear on the seats. The seats have no tears, stains or burns. The rear seat will fold up to allow more cargo space and is removable. Likewise, it is in good shape as are the main floor rugs. The dash and dashboard panels, front and rear floor rugs, door panels, mirrors, visors, cluster, seatbelts, etc, are in good shape as well.
The interior is in very good to excellent overall condition - the seats, carpets and panels are all very nice with the exception of the cargo floor which is badly torn. We had a new headliner with overhead console cover installed last year. It also has new tires, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, oil pump, fuel pump, carburetor, timing chain, front-end ball joints, etc. See the pictures. All of the windows and switches are good, and the gauges are new and work as they should. The roof does not leak a drop. Again, it has very nice interior.
The leather wrapped steering wheel has natural discoloration, but has no rips, or worn through areas. The cigarette lighter in the ashtray works. Unfortunately, the factory cargo floor mat was abused and could be replaced. All of the original stainless steel trim pieces are in place. The set of all terrain tires are in excellent shape and well compliment the aftermarket magnesium alloy wheels. The wheel and tire size is recommended by the factory specifications in the original owner’s manual included in this auction. The spare wheel and tire is mounted underneath the frame under the cargo bed and is also in good working order.

Why a reserve auction?
Wouldn't you rather have the seller have a set price that he would like to get rather then have it be a no reserve, when the seller will end the listing minutes before auction end (as many do) because he has not gotten enough money for it, or might even bid on his own item. Don't get me wrong no reserve auctions were great, but too many people have ruined their reputations. I am running a very low reserve and buy it now auctions, my reserve is relatively close to my buy it now price.
Why a private auction?
It has come to my knowledge that some people have been contacting my bidders and offering them their cars. That is not fair game. In order to prevent such things in the future we decided to run this auction as private.
