We have just taken this vehicle in on trade, (as with the other), from one of the largest used car dealerships in Florida. I have had the good fortune of driving this exceptionally clean, low mileage and never smoked-in 2003 Land Rover Discovery on several occasions, and it drives superbly. Crisp cornering, tight steering. It is an absolute pleasure to drive. You are certainly standing tall with its impressive stance, as well as factory 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and beefy, practically-new (with less than 1,000 miles on them) Goodyear All-Terrain Wrangler tires. The original mileage is below average for the model year at 69,961 and it looks like it has much less! Remember, these were almost exclusively highway driven (flat highways here in South Florida) and ALL sunny, fair-weathered miles. No potholes, no harsh weather, no snow and no salt! Only 70K Dealer serviced and maintained miles. Runs, drives, handles, shows beautifully. Certainly a garage-kept beauty!

The Land Rover Discovery Series II is the most interesting of all the luxury sport-utility vehicles. It really LOOKS like an off-road vehicle! On the road, the Discovery drives superbly, much better than the any other vehicle in it's class. Crisp rack-and-pinion steering, an agile road-worthy suspension, and an extremely rigid chassis give it excellent road manners, even when driven aggressively. The Discovery is stable at high-speeds both on pavement and on gravel. It has excellent anti-lock braking, and it rides smoothly and it's comfortable. The sport shifter controls the automatic transmission on-demand, giving you complete control of all 265 ponies!! And it makes it fun to drive on winding back roads (on ANY road condition!), allowing the driver to keep the V-8 engine revving in the power band. In short, the Land Rover strikes a fine balance between asphalt-agility and off-road capability. Around town, it's smooth and quiet. It feels like an premium vehicle. The Discovery is, as Land Rover puts it, the first premium Off-Road sport-utility vehicle.
