TRUE 4 wheel drive unlike the other wanabees.. Good luck getting this truck stuck! The only thing I don't like is the key position. It takes a while to get use to putting the key in so close to the dash. Other than that it's a winner. Favorite Features Leather Interior, Comfortable ride, power, safety, solid build, 7 passengers. Suggested Improvements Move the key away from the dash, and put the window controls on the door.

I'd definitely buy the Rover again. Looked at the ML, Toureg, Cayenne, and Rover. The Porsche was excellent but priced itself out for me. The VW was a close second but was still $5K or so more than a similarly equipped Rover. Dealer service is fantastic and has a fleet of Disco loaners. We'll see what happens but it's all good now. Favorite Features Excellent highway cruiser for longer roadtrips (uh, except when you need to fillup), good stiff seats, nice stereo, excellent cargo capacity, and dual sunroofs. And I find the Disco visually appealing and structurally very solid. Suggested Improvements Moot as the vehicle is no longer produced.

I had a Mercedes sports car, too small and didn't do well in bad weather. I got spoiled with luxury items and didn't want to give it up. I wanted something that was higher end but could live up to being an SUV. I bought an 04' Disco and I got just what I wanted. Unlike other SUV's, you can take this one anywhere and not worry about hurting it. As tough as it is on the outside, it still has luxury inside. The standard features on the Disco would all be options on any other SUV for the most part. So do you want something that is a real SUV, or an oversized car that claims to be one. Land Rover is the ticket Favorite Features Body styling, nothing like it. Doesn't look like anything else. Color options, again nothing like them. 18 inch standard wheels and a V8. Dual moon roofs and the cold climate package is awesome for those who deal with cold weather six months a year. You are very warm when it's 0 degrees outside Suggested Improvements A little more off the line power. Add running boards to make it more accessable to shorter people and children. A little more leg room would be nice. Definitely put a little more space between the gas and the brake. Every once in awhile I might touch both of them.

The guys/gals over at Landrover Warwick, RI have really made the vehicle that much more enjoyable. You certainly get red carpet/white glove treatment whenver you walk in their showroom. I have a 2002 Toyota Highlander, and had a 1995 Trooper. I absolutely love my Disco II. I am 6'2and so have had to learn how to get in it smoothly, but once I am in I am completely comfortable. The truck handles great on and off the road. In fact usually you can't drive an SUV like a car, but this one handles much better than most SUV's. I highly recommend this truck. Try to find one before they are all gone. I got mine for 10K below sticker due to the LR3's release. Best value on the market. Favorite Features Price. Incredible good looks. V8 power. Durability. Suggested Improvements More room for tall drivers to get in. Don't get rid of the Discovery line.

Coming from a sportscar, I am surprised how agile this vehicle is. Its not fast off the line, but it has plenty of power on the highway. The visibility is outstanding, and the handling is better than two rigid axels and ancient steering should be. The vehicle is solid as a rock, and the finishes in the cabin are WAY better than the new LR3 (oops I mean a Ford Explorer). I admit I had my concerns about buying such an antiquated vehicle, but it functions very well. Sure its quirky; some ergonomics are lacking but the old-fashioned, stately British charm is a big part of its attractiveness! A local dealer to fix it helps too! Favorite Features The look, the beautiful connoly hide leather interior, and the fantastic visibility. Your friends will be impressed! It laughs at off road encounters (ie potholes)! Suggested Improvements This is the Big Gulp of vehicles..$50 a tank to fill it. But I knew that going in. A little tough to get in an out. If your a larger person make sure you fit in the driver seat comfortably.

The ride quality is great for an SUV and the styling (interior exterior) is a cut above. I've only had it for 6 Mos. but it has been maintenance free. The only shock was gas mileage. Going from an Audi A4 to the Disco was a big difference, especially during a time when gas hovered around $2.50 / gal. Favorite Features I love the AWD/4WD capabilities for lousy NE weather and the occasional off- road ride. As for creature comforts, the dual sun roofs, comfortable leather captains chairs, and spacious cabin are terrific. Suggested Improvements 1) The digital clock looks cheap and could be positioned in a better place. Not their design teams best effort. 2) A telescoping steering column with greater tilt adjustment would benefit those with longish legs.

I tow a boat and it's brakes are amazing. The ride is extremely stable, even when cornering hard. Very fun to drive and not everyone has one! Favorite Features Stance! This SUV means business. Car has pulling power to boot. Great feel and ride quality. I was afraid being a live axle but this car rides better than others with independent suspension. Suggested Improvements Gas was an obvious fault, but if you know this going in and still like it, then there are now surprises.

I just bought a 1997 Volvo 960 from Val. He was very accomodating with respect to meeting to test the car and also allowed me to drive the car to my mechanic for a more thorough inspection. Val was very forthcoming about this cars problems and defects that he was aware of. He had even contacted the previous owner to obtain the radio security code (for some reason, the original Volvo code was no longer valid). Given that the car is 10 years old and due for scheduled maintenance, there were some substantial repair bills in the immediate future for the next owner. I brought this up with Val and he was very professional in his response.We were able to negotiate a price based on this. Overall, this was a good car buying experience. If Val is still doing this in 10 years when my Volvo dies, I'll check out his inventory again.
