Aviator's styling is Hot Up front, a wide chrome grille, framed by quad-beam headlights with the optional HID headlamps (The extremely bright ones that are on the really high end cars) In the back, extra large taillights that spill around the edges dark tint glass and chrome trim. Side on you just got a big, chiseled profile, with black-out privacy glass in back, and machined aluminum rims at the corners this vehicle is just one great looking machine.
The Aviator's cockpit is about luxury and choices. The headroom and legroom up front are the best in its class, it is extremely roomy, and accommodating of all size occupants. Six way power seats on both sides, and power adjustable pedals for the driver so big tall short or small can all ride in comfort. Two memory settings lock in your preferences for seats, outside mirrors, and pedals. Rear Park Assist signals your distance from obstacles behind extremely nice a very good safety feature the music even goes down as you back closer to an object. Other safety features of heated side mirrors that house turn signal repeaters and approach lights. And since this is the Premium model it has the added luxury perks like heated/cooled seats and a six CD in dash player, and a DVD flip down TV Combo with DVD storage compartment built in the back and I have the headphones and controller so the kids can listen without the driver being distracted and let’s forget about the dreaded “Are we there yet?” or “How much longer is it going to be” The kids have all the comforts and entertainment they could possibly ask for. The dash looks amazing and comes with trim of - walnut burl, leather, satin nickel and white LED lighting for the instruments really a show stopper. The layout of switchgear is easy to follow, with redundant controls on the steering wheel to make control changes without undue distractions.
One row back, Aviator has bucket seating with a large center console dividing the chairs, much as up front. Head and leg room and are very much adult sized. Aviator's third row will hold 2 adults or 3 children. If you regularly carry six or seven people with you, there isn't a ton of room for your belongings - 12.4 cubic feet of cargo room is about what you might find in a smaller car's trunk. But, if you generally ferry less than five, the availability of a third row offers options. Flip the seat up and you can take along a couple more people. Leave the seat down and you're good for about 40 cubic feet of gear (extremely easy one quick movement fold down). And if need be, you can fit as much as 77 cubic feet of stuff inside, if you fold the 2nd and 3rd rows. The rear lift gate is of a two piece design, with swing-up window.
The chassis features four wheel independent suspension and a graceful ride. It also has the optional AdvancTrac and a stability enhancement system. Taken together, these interactive vehicle dynamics aids can help correct over/understeer and move torque front to rear and side to side as needed to get a grip. Powering the SUV is a Ford 4.6 liter dohc V8 which it produces 302 hp, 300 ft. lbs. of torque. This is the AWD model and weighs in at 4,957 lb., but the 4.6 liter has enough juice to move things along nicely. It also has the optional tow package that is best in class towing capacity of 7,300 lb. Gas mileage is predictably not the best but when weighed in with other SUV’s it is surprisingly good. It has the average MPG display on the dash and it reads 17 which means about 13-14 city 20-21 highway which is more inline with the smaller SUV’s not a giant that hold 7 people. This Aviator also has all wheel drive (AWD) and is the hire of two trim levels – Premium Luxury. Which has all the extras such as HID headlights, in-dash 6 disc CD player, heated/cooled seats, and 17" aluminum rims. And on top of that is has all the additional options such as a Class III towing package, moon roof and a DVD rear-seat entertainment system.
Condition: EVERYTHING IS FAR BETTER THEN EXPECTED FOR THE YEAR The Aviator is in amazing condition and is near mint far above what would be normal for the year inside and out. On the outside there are two very tiny door dings on the drives door not even noticeable in pictures you really have to look. As far as paint chips on the hood and front from rocks virtually not existent possibly one or two but when I looked it over I couldn’t find any. There is a small rub mark next to the gas cap and a very tiny scratch or two but as I said this SUV is extremely close mint. Inside The leather is all in very good condition along with the carpet on the floors very minimal if any wear. All options are working there is not leaks of any kind and the Aviator drives like a dream. The SUV was green lighted at the auto auction I bought it at and is free of any kind of mechanical issues.
