Vehicle Description
Rare Find! 1968 Lincoln Continental 4 Door Sedan with Like New All Original Black Leather Interior!! This is a classic "suicide door" sedan with an unbelieveable original black leather interior that has no rips/cracks and the leather seats are supple and not dryed out/brittle. Even more amazing is NO CRACKS IN THE DASH or door panels! Mechanically, the car runs and drives great with a 460 V-8 - nice and tight steering. There is exhaust noise from a leak in a manifold and the dual exhaust needs some pieces replaced. The transmission was recently rebuilt and shifts fine. Lots of new parts including distributer, starter, alternator, brakes, brake lines, and a recent tune up. Electrically, all the lights and power options appear to be working, except none of the windows are even making any noise (bad master switch somehwere?) and the gas gauage is not working. Cosmetically, the body on this car is amazingly straight with no signs of dents or prior body work. The previous owner sprayed flat black over the all-original metallic gray paint because it was starting to flake on some of the top surfaces. The car will, therefore, need a repaint. The car still has its original black vinyl top which is like new, except for some shrinkage pulling near the bottom corner of the side rear windows. Rust-wise, the car is remarkably rust-free, except for some small easily-fixed spots in the "typical areas" right in-front of the rear wheels, right behind one front wheel, and along one lower rear quarter bottom. The chrome is decent driver quality with some rust on the passenger front end and the very bottom of the rear bumper. This is a FANTASTIC car for a restoration to show quality. You will not find a nicer original black leather interior in another 68 nor a sraighter body. With some paint, exhaust work, window repairs, and rechome, you could have a show car. I just have too many cars and do not want to see this one sit. This car is over 40 years old so there are no warrnaties, express or implied. It is sold as is where is. Please arrange for any inspection or ask any questions BEFORE bidding. I will not disclose the reserve during the auction.
