1994 Lincoln Mark VIII
This car is a beautiful pearl white with dove gray interior. There are no dents or major cosmetic issues. I recently spent $2,000 on this car replacing radiator, fan assembly, most all sensors, alternater, belt-tensioner and resurfacing intake, plus other things I just cannot think of at the moment.
The problem with this car is that the engine will not idle down. I believe now, after investigating other possibilities, that it is most likely a minor vacuum leak somewhere in the system. It just needs someone with the time to tinker with it.
The engine runs fine, but the last time I started it, the air ride pump did not activate. Therefore, that is something that will have to be looked into.
The car has 158,000 miles on it, but the last time I drove it, the speedometer malfunctioned and now reads 999,999. A new transmission was put in this car by the Ford dealership at approximately 100,000 miles. Nearly all miles are highway miles.
Registration has not been renewed on this car since 2005. It passed smog just fine the last time it was registered. When it started acting up, I just put it aside and didn't keep up with it.
I believe with patience, a little elbow grease and a few dollars, this car could be an excellent ride again. It is a very comfortable car that gets better gas mileage than one would expect for an 8-cyclinder. Other perks include individually operated lumbar support seats, an automatic sunroof, 10-disk CD changer in the trunk and a built-in analog telephone in the console that can still be hooked up via Verizon.
