1996 Lincoln Mark VIII 89K mi!!!
Up for sale is a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC coupe. (Don't worry the brown spots on the pic above on the trunk are leafs) It has almost 89K miles and was a Florida car! I bought this car off a private owner and drove it for about a month. He said the car had set for almost a full year because his dad was unable to drive it. So obviously there was bugs to be worked out but that's why the mileage was good. It's not as bad on gas as what you think! Be Advised this car is also locally listed for sale so it may be taken off at anytime!
The transmission started acting up and now barely moves I probably only test drove it a total of ten miles after it started acting up. I was told it could just need the filter changed and new fluid since it had sat so long. It will barely move but reverse works great, the fluid is NOT discolored. So knowing that reverse didn't go out first, that it just suddenly happened, and the fluid is not black leads me to believe that this is an easy fix and may just be the filter due to sitting for a long period of time without moving. Plus I've had 3 different mechanics tell me it's NOT the transmission but a sensor or the filter causing the problem. I did get the car fax when I first purchased the car and it did prove that the mileage didn't move really meaning it really did sit for a lengthy period of time.
Update: I changed the fluid and filter (hence why I took it off auction last time)... but due to not knowing much about trannys i didn't flush it. When I done this it drove great with no problems for about 45 minutes... then boom it happened again... I was told to do it again and actually flush it this time since when you dont flush it I guess your only actually changing half the fluid, which I didn't know... but I dont wanna mess with it anymore, I'm tired of all this crap honestly and just want it gone so I don't have to store it for the winter. It's all honest truth when you buy it you can take the pan off and see it has a new filter. Also when I done all this there were no shavings in the pan just buildup from where it had sat for so long. I'm not guaranteeing anything I'm just being honest.
The reason it was tooken of the very first time was because I got bombarded with questions and accusations! So I thought I'd change it myself. DO NOT MESSAGE ME AND SAY "IF YOU TOOK IT TO MECHANICS WHY DIDN'T THEY FIX IT?"- Because like everyone else I wanted it cheaper and I knew that if I waited I could probably have it done at half the price by some friends. or don't ask "WHY DIDN'T YOU HAVE IT PUT ON A DIAGNOSTICS?" --- I DID!!! They said it wouldn't even show if the filter was clogged... the diagnostics showed nothing. If you think the price is to high don't message me and whine about it... after one bid I couldn't change it anyways.. plus it's MY car until it's purchased. Don't tell me what I can and can't do... don't tell me how to run my auction. Not being mean I'm just saying I'm honest look at my feedback and if you still wanna accuse me of something then you don't even have to bid.
I will give a free car fax to the winner of the auction only after your purchase is confirmed and money is put down because I have to purchase a new one due to misplacing the last one. I love this car but I'm remodeling and have no time, nor the room to garage it this winter.
Now on to the shape/condition. 4.6-liter double overhead cam V-8 that is rated at 280 horsepower. This car starts every time, engine is smooth, and doesn't leak a drop of anything whatsoever. Air ride system is in perfect condition with the option to turn it on or off in the trunk. The interior is really clean and looks nice! There is sun damage on the roof from the Florida sun but no rusting and so forth. The drivers mirror has a yellowish marker like mark around the edges of the mirror, I got some remover but not sure if I will be able to remove the markings. There is a slight crack in the windshield on lower passenger side looks like a bb or small rock hit it, it's not near driver distraction. There are a few little dings but nothing noticeable, I tried to take pics of them but you cant see them... that's how small they are! Tires are good for awhile yet. Sometimes it will say radiator fluid low but it's always full! Dealer told me to either reset the battery or clean a sensor? The sound system works, I never tried the cd player I was always to busy messing with all the other gadgets lol, but it's all there to.
