1957 MGB MGA Roadster. Strong running and driving example, and an older and complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration. Recent mechanical and electrical work, fresh paint on the hardtop, and the entire car was just professionally wet sanded and buffed for a smooth and lustrous sheen. Fast440 is pleased to offer this great example MGA that has undergone a complete restoration several years ago. The exterior body and paint work are very good in terms of quality and condition. A few minor dings, and few chips exist which were touched up prior to the professional wet sand and buff procedure.
Exterior trim items were mostly replaced when restored, and are in very good-to-excellent condition. Minor pitting here and there on some of the chrome work. The wind screen shows scratches and appears original to the car. Some of the Tonneau cover snaps that mount to the body are missing. No tonneau cover provided, although side curtains in need of restoration will go with the car. The convertible top is in very good condition with some minor wear at the base of the top on the driver side from going up and down.
Mechanicals were rebuilt when restored, oil pressure is good, and the car starts reliably. Recent mechanical improvements include a rebuilt brake system and wiring. Other improvements include recent tires, battery and more. Known problems that still need attention include a non-functional gas gauge and wiper motor. The emergency brake system needs work as well, either an adjustment or a new cable assembly required to operate.
The interior of the vehicle shows to have been completely re-done one the older restoration. The carpet and factory style mats are most recent. The heater control fascia is cracked, and a new one is on order for the new owner to install.
The undercarriage of the car (see pictures below) shows a solid frame with no eviedence of rust issues, or rust repair. Wood floors have been replaced when restored, and completely solid.
