Vehicle Description
1953 MG TD Detailed for Show Very nice Ivory Paint and Biscuit leather interior. All Chrome is new or very good original. The Engine and Transmission were just removed and detailed for show. The frame and suspension were cleaned to bare metal and inspected for wear or previous damage then detailed. The wood is very good it is believed to be original.
The clutch and linkage were replaced.
The radiator cleaned ,flushed and tested. The engine Temperature stays at 80c (180f). Complete tune( Valve adj., Carbs cleaned and synched, points plugs wires,etc.) the car starts runs and drives with no drama. The engine was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago (Crank turned .020 etc.) Oil pressure is 45lbs hot idle 65 driving. The transmission shifts well, does not pop out of gear, or make exceptional noises and was very clean internally.
Braking is good the car stops in a straight line with reasonable ease. E-brake cables are new.
The gauges all work (speedo is wildly optimistic and the clock is accurate twice a day.
Included is a very nice original steering wheel a very good full , convertible boot, top and ok side curtains.
This is a number matching restoration of a rust free, collision free TD its fun to drive and great to look at.
