'98 Mazda 626 ES V6 - 5 spd.- GREAT PROJECT CAR! NR '98 Mazda 626 ES V6 - 4 door sedan - 5 spd. manual - GREAT project car! No Reserve! This has been a GREAT car, and I'm really sad to see it go. However, it does have some problems, and is NOT currently in running condition. My daughter is ready to start learning to drive, and does not want to learn on a manual transmission, so rather than fix it ourselves, we bought a newer car, and are selling this one. It will make a *terrific* project car, or use it for parts. Everything I know about the car is listed below. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email. OK, Here Goes! BASIC INFO 1998 Mazda 626 ES (top of the line) 4-door sedan 5 speed manual transmission 6-cylinder 164,282 miles, and light body damage as shown in the pictures. Engine was replaced at approx. 130,000 miles. (According to previous owner - have paperwork.) Clear title Power everything. Windows, doors, seats. All working. Cruise control, working BRAND NEW Goodyear Eagle GT-HR tires (Had them on for 2 days when the car died!) Car is NOT currently in running condition. (Car overheated and will not start. In other words, this car is listed As is.) BODY Light body damage as seen in the photos. Small dent in left front fender, probably from a shopping cart. (They didn't bother to leave a note.) Paint had been keyed when we bought it, but lightly. I don't even notice it unless I look for it. The leather interior is in very good condition for its age. Driver's seat has some cracking and a split in the side, otherwise, the leather looks good. See photos. BOSE stereo system with single CD player THE GOOD STUFF BRAND NEW Goodyear Eagle GT-HR tires (50,000 mile tread). Purchased and installed at Walmart TWO DAYS before the car overheated and died. The price of the tires alone was over $400.00. Also new (Replaced wiithin the past month): Both front CV joints/axlesAll spark plugs and wires (lifetime quality)All brake pads rotors The battery and alternator were replaced within the last year. Tags and inspection are current. Inspection is valid through April of 2009. Tags expire November 2008. As you can see, the new parts alone are worth MORE than the opening bid. NOW THE BAD STUFF The car is NOT in running condition. The last time I drove it, it overheated and died. My husband THINKS it probably only needs the following to get it running again: 2 heads, timing belt, radiator. However, it MAY need a whole new engine, so bid accordingly. Prior to overheating, the car ran very well, and I drove it daily. However, it DID need some transmission work, as it would not stay in 5th gear. All other gears and reverse were working fine, so the transmission shop didn't think it was anything major. While this car will need some work to bring it back to top condition, it could make somebody a terrific project car, and it was getting excellent gas mileage. Appx. 27+ mpg (Even with no 5th gear!) It was a really fun car to drive. Or, you can buy it for parts to fix up your own car. The new tires alone justify the opening bid price, and several other parts are brand new as well, as listed above. FINE PRINT Vehicle is described to the best of our knowledge, but is sold as is, with no guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied, so bid accordingly. Seller will deliver a signed, clear title along with the vehicle to the buyer at time of sale. Payment due when you pick up the car. Cash only. (NO exceptions!) Buyer must pick up in Terrell/Kaufman area (appx. 30 miles East of Dallas, TX) within 1 week of auction's end. jessfarms Store
