Purchased car for summer toy in April, at that point I put about $1500 into it to certify. The car got new brake rotors and pads, one new caliper, driver side cv axle and boot, wheel bearings, driver side ball joint and tie rod. I also threw on a new catalytic converter, 02 sensor and plugs. The car runs beautifully now, idles perfect, smooth acceleration and handling on the highway. Been driving it about 50KM a day with no problems. Should only need a new ebrake cable to repass the safety, will need the EGR to be cleaned/replaced to pass the etest. I was just running it on ten days as I was going to do a KLZE engine swap in the fall but plans have changed. Car shifts fine, no grinds, lots of clutch left. Only thing I notice is the occasional puff on startup after a prolonged absence of driving, which I was told was just the valve seals.I put maybe a quart of oil in between changes (every 5000) so its not a problem that needs to be addressed.
Car is great on fuel, $40 does me all week. Rims are 17" Ikon with one year old 205/40/17 performance tires. Handles very nice with these wheels. Also have stock rims/tires/hubcaps that can go with the car. Engine is the peppy 1.8L V6.
Body is very solid. Has been touched up in a couple spots on the roof and hood, but it is solid around the wheelwells and door pillars where these thing usually rot out. Some parking lot dents here and there, but no serious dents or holes anywhere.
If you are looking for a perfect car, look elsewhere, but this little Mazda should get the job done economically for a while yet with little investment.
Will consider an even trade for an 87-93 5.0 Mustang.
Im open to offers if I can keep the rims and just sell the car with the stock wheels, so feel free to offer me what you feel the car is worth to you. However, with the Ikon rims, the starting bid is the lowest I will take. The car is in Fenelon Falls, two hours northeast of Toronto, I can give flawless directions from anywhere.
Terms of sale: I have described this car to the best of my ability and knowledge. I have sold cars on here before successfully so bid with confidence. Car is sold as is, where is with no warranties or gurantees suggested or implied. Any new bidders or bidders with below 10 feedback please contact me before you bid to let me know you are serious. I understand that everyone is a noob at some point, but I have bad experiences with non paying bidders. I require $500 via Paypal with 24 hours of auction end, and then the balance via cash/cert cheque before car can be released. No rush on pickup, the car can be stored at my shop until such a time is convenient for you.
