1995 Type R Miata Black Track Car. I purchased this vehicle with 51,733 miles on the car in 2001. I used the car as a second car for 4 years and then built a track car out of it. After this conversion the car has not been driven on the street. The car currently has 62,510 miles on it. This is strictly a track fair weather car. Not street legal or drivable. The interior has been completely striped, windows removed, top removed (cannot be put back on because of the high roll cage) and head light assemblies have been removed. Weight of the car is approximately 2000 lbs. Approximately 15 track events on rebuilt motor. This is a great Miata for a tall driver because of the high roll cage. The car runs great at the track. This car is faster than Honda S2000’s and some Porsches. Corners like a dream. Because of the individual throttle bodies, throttle control between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm’s is lacking. Engine kind of sputters between these rpm’s but it is very drivable on the track. Probably with professional tuning this can be corrected. I never did this because the engine runs strong at all rpm’s above 3500. The fuel pressure gauge does not function.
