1990 MAZDA RX7 CONVERTIBLE TURBO CONVERSION WITH COMPLETE PERFORMANCE ENGINE REBUILD This car is an absolute blast to drive, The engine pulls hard right through the powerband, The car looks great and I get compliments on it every time I take it out. The stereo system sounds awesome, but the exhaust sound ever better! The car has been my Sunday driver, I am selling as I just bought a BMW M3 Convertible that is better suited for my family situation. The engine was completely rebuilt to be as close to indestructible as possible, with under 5000 miles on the rebuild it is barely broken in. I felt that if I was doing the conversion I should re-build the engine while it was out of the car and wanted it built with the best parts available. It has the factory turbo that was inspected at install and has only been run @ factory boost, but I have been advised it could handle a lot more boost. The car has not been on a dyno, but been advised it is around 300 horsepower. Since owning I have done Royal Purple oil changes with KN oil filters every 2500kms. The car was stored for winter in a heated garage. The car is loaded with power windows, power door locks, power convertible top, leather seats, air, tilt, cruise. CAR HISTORY This is a Canadian Car that odometer shows in kilometers that I have converted to miles. There are no issues importing into the United States, as Canadian requirements on this car are more strick than the US. It may have smog issues in California as there is no Catalytic converter and 3" exhaust all the way through. I have confirmed documentation showing that the car was imported into British Columbia, Canada on November 9, 1992. Prior to that it was in Canada, I just never found out where. The car remained in British Columbia until I purchased it in June of 2002 with 129,543 kms (80,462 miles). As far a I know it has never seen snow. I have done the following since purchasing: Engine and Performance April 03 A'PEXi Super Megaphone CatBack Exhaust July 04 JHB Performance Engineering http://.com/services.php Purchased 1990 Turbo II Engine, transmission, rear differential, drives shaft and axles, performance O-ring kit, apex seals, Cermet Coated end housings, Cermet A Rotor housings, set of corner seals, ceramic coat rotors, Injector service and blueprinting, Over $7000, Oct 04 RX7 Specialties http://www.rotaryengine.com/ The car was shipped to Calgary for engine rebuilt and conversion. Installed larger fuel pump, fuel pump shut off switch, KN air filter and custom intake, Turbo II hood, Turbo and Air/Fuel ratio gauges, HKS F-con, Racing Beat down pipe and cat replacement pipe. Street Ported engine. I had them keep the car for 2 months to run and make sure it was running 100% and replace all fluids before shipping back to me. $3200, plus shipping both ways. Car had at that time 146,151 kms (90,777 miles) June 06 Installed Performance Clutch with Flywheel resurface 152,392 kms 94,653 July 08 Installed Nology Performance Spark Plug Wires Exterior May 03 Replace existing top with a Robbins G Cloth Top. Air Conditioner is not working, I was told it was never re-charged after the conversion. I only drove with the top down and have no use for air conditioning, Windshield wiper switch only works on one setting, I replaced out one switch already, Never drive in rain. This is a common problem with RX7's Switches can be easily found on Ebay Rear Defrost never worked, never needed it. Cruise doesn't work Small sized dent on rear right corner panel it's about 1/8 of an inch. I tried to take a picture of it, but it was too small to show up Headlight washer reservoir is cracked and leaks (never needed to wash my headlights, but parts can easily be found on Ebay The car has a rough idle when cold, when it is warm it shunts (increases then lowers). I was told this was because of the larger porting. It has never bothered me as I like to let the car warm up for 3-5 minutes before driving. I am in the automotive industry and will help out anyway I can with arranging shipping. I hope this answers all questions, but if not please feel free to ask? Thanks for looking! Darren
