Mercedes-Benz W201:
This is about the luxury compact car produced from 1982 to 1993. See Mercedes-Benz 190 for other models sold with the same name.The Mercedes-Benz W201 was the last incarnation of the Mercedes-Benz 190 nameplate. It was a compact executive car 4-door saloon/sedan produced by the Mercedes-Benz division of Daimler-Benz. It was replaced in 1993 by the C-Class.Dubbed the Baby Benz, the W201-based 190 was the most affordable model in the marque's lineup, being designed to fill the gap in the range below the W123, the equivalent of a modern Mercedes E-class. Amongst the items that were a first for Mercedes was the 190's patented 5-link suspension at the rear, used in subsequent E- and C- class models, and developments used today in Mercedes road cars. It had front and rear anti-roll bars, and anti-dive, anti-squat geometry. The 190 was available with airbags, ABS brakes and seatbelt tensioners, and other advanced safety features.190 E 2.6 straight-six cylinder:
Following the 1980s trend for 16 valve models, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the 2.6 model in 1986. This was fitted with a new 2.6 L six-cylinder M103 petrol engine from the new W124 E-Class model range, and produced 160 bhp (119 kW). Being a straight six, it had smoothness lacking from four-cylinder petrol or diesel engines. Although it might look superfluous alongside the similarly powerful 2.3-16 valve, it was intended as a less sporting alternative to the 16 valve models. The late motoring journalist LJK Setright once rated the 190 E 2.6 as one of his favourite cars.
Personal Description:I am always thrilled when it comes time to offer another fine German Automobile to the eBay marketplace. Being German engineering enthusiasts ourselves, we take extra pride in the buying and selling in such vehicles. We know that the buyer is looking for and we insppect these vehicles so that we may describe them to the best of our ability. Listing all pros and cons, as if we were describing this vehicle to another enthusiast. In the following sections I will do my honest best to describe every known aspect of this Benz. I'm sure we all understand that this vehicle is over 18yrs of age, so we are not expecting anything perfect here, but as a buyer, you are probably looking for this car to be original, and in quality running condition. This is exactly what we look for in the purchase of our vehicles. We are in this game for the long haul, as our feedback shows, so we take pride in what we do in every way. After reading each section through and through, and viewing every detailed picture, you still have some unanswered concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
Interior:I found this interior to be one of the most special characteristics about this Benz. The MB-Tex seats are all in like new condition, with no signs of abuse. No rips, tears, or even much cracking. Generally looking into the vehicle, I found nothing negative to point out regarding the interior. I have to say I was impressed. The back seats seem to have minimal to no usage. The ash tray and cigarette lighter is untouched proving after 18yrs old, this car has still not smelled the odor of a cigarette. The dash is clean and clear of any cracks or even sun damage. If you know the E-Series, you know these dashes are very hard to keep mint. So, I found this to be a very speacial pro. I can honestly rate this interior an 8/10. That is darn good for an 18yr old car.
Exterior:Now, we all know if not one of, the most important thing about the exterior of an older Benz, is RUST. Yes, we look for this as it is the first on our to do list. Check for rust. I am not interested in purchasing a rusted out vehicle, just as well as you are, nore am I interested in purchasing a bondo filledBenz. Therefore, I performed what I like to call the magnet test and I'm sure you all know what that is... If the magnet doesnt stick, we don't want it.. Bottom line. Needles to say, this vehicle would not be in our inventory if it did not pass the magnet test. For the novice, in few, simple words, there is no signs of repaird or excisting rust any where on this Benz. The paint, however, is weathered mostly, but I would rather have an all original, weatherd Benz, then a repainted Benz any day. Weathered paint is when it almost seams like small cracks deep in the paint, usuall an extensive wax job takes care of it temporarely, but the permanant fix, is a new paint job. Considering the awesomely clean interior and the very appetizing MPG, and the car being 18yrs old, it has to show signs of it's age in some aspect. Overall, I rate the exterior an honest 7/10. I take one point off because the car is use, 9. Another point because of the weathered paint, 8, and one more point for the age, 7. For an 18yr old vehicle to score a solid 7, we are feeling good about this car, and so should you.
Mechanical:First thing is first, this engine gets great MPG. We're talking mid to higher 30's. Which at $4.19 a gallon and climbing, is incredible. So, you get the smooth, luxorious ride of a Benz, along with a comfortable, clean interior, and awesome Gas Mileage, what else could you be looking for? Oh, and the tires are brand new. Our ASE certified Mechanic reports that there is nothing that requires immediate attention regarding this 190. That simply means, you wim this auction, all you need is gas to drive it any length. This is an excellent vehicle for a daily driver, second car, or a new drivers starter car. It's safe, relable, and awesome to look at...
Overall:Honestly, we would not be wasting ours or your time if this vehicle was nothing speacial. We know what makes a solid older Generation Benz, and this is it. There is absolutely no reason not to buy this one. Ok, it needs paint, so what, thats the least of anyones worries. The most expensive areas are all there. The mechanics, the a/c blows ice cold, the body is solid, the interior is super clean, the gas mileage is great. If you are not familar with this 190-E model Benze with the Straight 6cyl engine, do some research. It is a highly saught out Benz of the older generation. Look no further, you found one.

You must bring a valid PA Drivers License and current insurance card. DepositWe require a $250.00 non-refundable deposit immediately after winning the auction, if this deposit is not recieved within 12 hours, we reserve the right to relist this vehicle and post negative feedback. Full PaymentFull payment is required within 72 hours (3 days) after the auction ends.
