1973 Mercedes-Benz 280
Two Owners who took good care of the car
About the Car
This is a perfect example of a well taken care of reliable luxury Classic! The 1973 Mercedes-Benz 280 is one of the most rare and sought after luxury cars on the road. It has 131,992 miles on it but there is still plenty of life left in it.
This one is loaded with options including but not limited to Power Locks, Leather Seats, Automatic Transmission, Cruise Control, and much more! This one boasts 6 cylinder Engine that will be sure to give you an excellent return on your investment.
Here is a little history on this car. This is a two owner vehicle and has been given lots of love. The first owner was a little old lady who drove the car all around town until she wasn't able to drive anymore. When I was 16 I bought the car from her estate and I drove the car all through high school and college. (Don't worry - I was a good student and took good care of the car : ) I intended to keep the car and restore it for my kids one day but plans changed.
The car runs well for its age. It does take 2 or 3 tries to get it started but it runs just fine but once it starts. It has been in covered storage for the last nine years.
The interior of the car is immaculate as you will see in the photos. The seats are in perfect condition and the floor carpeting is pristine. There is a small snag in the floor carpeting on the front passenger side and there is also a few small dark spots that will likely come out with carpet cleaner.
In the photo of the dashboard you will see that a turn signal has been added to the right hand side. This is because the original owner could not use her left hand so she had this turn signal added to the right hand side.
There are a few rust spots that need to be attended to if you want the car to be perfect. They are shown in the pictures but the worst spot is above both headlights and there are a few spots near the tires. There is very minimal surface rust underneath the car. Overall, it would be a very easy fix.
This has been well taken care of and it has been a non smoker vehicle. You will surely get a lot of looks driving this around!
We are so sure you will love this car that we offer a no questions ask buy-back guarantee! If you come and don't like this vehicle, you are not obligated to buy it. This one is truly a nice vehicle and you will enjoy it for many years to come!
Please feel free to call with any questions you may have. My dad is a mechanic and will be happy to take your call. He may be reached at 216.346.9222 with any questions.
The car in located in the Cleveland, Ohio USA area 44109 zipcode.
Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!

Hello, just to clarify that the car will start up and run but it's not the case that you're going to be able to put a license tag on it and drive it home. It's been sitting in storage for nine years so it's being sold as is; I just wanted to clarify that part just to make sure everyone knew that. If you have questions please don't hesitate to call my dad at his number listed above. Thanks for looking.

In response to questions that have been asked:
Q: "...would this car most likely make a six or seven hour ride [to Nashville]...?"
A: Hi Kristen, According to my dad, no. It's been sitting for 9 years so the engine needs work and attention so it wouldn't make the trip to Nashville. The person who buys my car will need to trailer it or tow it home because you won't be able to drive it away.
Q: "Can you post a picture of the engine? Is it the dual overhead cam engine? Thank you very much."
A: Yes, it is a dual overhead cam engine.
