Vehicle Description NO RESERVE Auction! Great way to avoid the high cost of fuel! Already converted to burn either diesel, OR waste vegetable oil (WVO). Warm the engine up with diesel, then switch to WVO, to get 500 MILES PER GALLON or more out of your diesel fuel! This is a 1980 300cd that runs and drives. The car has 208,000 original miles, I will start with the outside of the car. the paint is in average condition given that the car is 28 years old. There is some cracking and fading. There are a couple of rust spots on the car I took pictures of to try to help you see them. The dent on the passenger side has some surface rust, but is not bad. The door is still operational. There are the normal dings and small scrapes on this car (it is 28 years old). The tires need to be replaced, have worn unevenly - probably needs aligned. The hood emblem is intact. Inside, the car is in average condition. I think everything on the dashboard works as it should, even the clock. There are a few cracks on the dash, but not too bad, which is fairly normal for this car. The main downside on the interior of this car is that the outside "shoulder" of the seats is separating on both driver and passenger sides. See pics. I don't know about the AC or cruise. Other than that everything seems to work as it should. I bought this car several months ago on Ebay and towed it to Toledo from North Carolina. It has normal rust for a North Carolina car, not an Ohio/Michigan rust belt product. When I bought it, it was not running. It was run out of fuel. I got it running again but have not driven it much. It smokes a bit, especially at start up but seems to run fine. I started it recently after it sat for over two months and it fired right up. It shifts normally and turns off when you turn off the key. It has plenty of power. It has a cleanable KN air filter and a newer exhaust system. The passenger side front window has issues. The window motor works but needs help to get all the way up. The only mechanical issue I know of that needs attention right away is the left rear axle half. The boot is shredded and the knuckle clunks. I would not drive it that way long distance. I did however tow it on a tow dolly (with drive shaft disconnected) from North Carolina to Toledo, Ohio. That was before I noticed the axle. I recently relocated to the Detroit area and found a house close enough to work that we do not need another car. I already have an 82 300 SD Turbo that I converted to run WVO. I am not sure what brand the grease conversion kit is. There is a bumper sticker on the trunk that says “Energy Liberty”. From looking at it, it looks like the entire veggie tank is heated. It appears to have both a 120v heater and a 12v heater. There are no additional fuel lines from the veggie tank to the engine compartment. In fact, the valves are in the trunk and operated manually with a knob located under the arm rest between the front seats. There is a black box in the passenger compartment with a temperature gauge, amp gauge and fuel level gauge. There are three switches and a 15amp breaker. There is also a Racor fuel filter/water separator in the engine compartment. I bypassed that to get the car running again on diesel. There may be a filter cartridge that should go inside but is missing. One other thing - the guy I bought from checked "exceeds mechanical limits". Maybe that's just a North Carolina thing considering its age but there's no way this car has a million and a quarter miles on it! The mileage on the DASH is CORRECT. See pics. THANKS FOR BIDDING!
