Here is an very nice Mercedes 300D in very good condition inside and out. The car was bought new at Laurel Motors in Westmont, IL in October of 1983 and came to Scottsdale, AZ in 1986. It is a 1 owner car that belonged to my friends grand mother. These cars are prone to rust which anyone who knows these cars will tell you, that's why it is rare to find such a well preserved desert car like this example that is rust free. The 300D is the Mercedes symbol of reliability and bullet-proof build quality that has made these cars known and loved internationally. Over 75% of the 300D's built are still registered on the road today and are driven on every continent except Antarctica! These cars routinely go half a million miles before needing a rebuild. This car still retains all of its elegance and practicality that it did when it rolled of the lot in 1983 at a price of $31940! The body on the car is in very good condition and was well maintained. The paint on the car is in good condition and shows well. The car received one repaint in the late 90's in its original color of Sand Bronze. There is one dent in the drivers back door which didn't damage the paint and may be able t be popped back out. Other than that the exterior is beautiful with no fading or cracking and only a few chips, which is to be expected. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as a desert car should be. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in great shape. Only flaw on the chrome is an area on top of the bumper in the middle where the chrome is peeling a bit. The windshield has been replaced and looks good.
The interior is in great shape all around. The dash and door panels are in perfect condition. The seats are all in very good condition with no tares or rips and absolutely ZERO wear to the driver seat which shows the quality of material used in this car. The wood grain is in excellent condition. The carpets are all in nice condition and have been professionally cleaned. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. The sound system is also very nice with the Becker Premium sound. The only noticeable defects in the interior are a small rip on the rear seat near the package tray and a bit of cracking on the drivers seat arm rest. Also I would like to note the sunroof motor gear most likely needs replaced. The car still even has the original Mercedes-Benz floor mats, which are still in good condition.
Mechanically, this 300D runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. Many Mercedes experts and mechanics stand behind the 3.0L diesel as the best engine Mercedes ever made. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The suspension is very tight and feels solid even at autobahn speeds above 90mph. The car has a very good service history showing oil changes every 3000 miles and all stamps in the service book. The emissions system was serviced to allow the vehicle to pass smog check in 2005 at 176k. I also have a receipt for a $1000 transmission repair and service in 2003 at 170k. CarFax also shows several services including suspension service at 170k, brakes serviced at 164k, A/C serviced at 164k, Motor and Transmission mounts done at 146k. The vehicle has been off the road for the past 2 years, but was routinely started to maintain all systems. The A/C is currently blowing but most likely needs a charge, as it is not getting cold. Within the last week the car has received brand new tires and a new battery.
The car will come with one key as well as all the original manuals and warrantee books. It also includes the spare and all original tools. Pretty much everything that came with the car new.
All in all, this is one heck of a nice 300D for the money. This car has many years of loyal driving left under the hood, and will make its new owner very happy. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owner, and now its time to pass on the karma. This Mercedes is a fantastic car for the price and includes every option offered in this car. The car has a clean Arizona title, as well as being Carfax certified as one owner and accident free. At Close of Auction
The successful "winning" bidder must telephone me within 24 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction.
Full payment must be received within 7 business days of the end of auction. Payment must be either by cashiers-check or certified funds. If funds are not received, and an alternate arrangement has not been made, the vehicle can and will be made available to other potential buyers on a first-come, first-serve basis.

However, I recommend that all buyers conduct an inspection either in person or through a qualified professional third party inspector prior to the end of the auction. If such inspection reveals a substantial discrepancy between the information contained in the listing and the actual vehicle, we will correct the problem at no charge or work out a compromise.
