Vehicle Description This auction is for a 1982 Mercedes 300Sd turbo diesel sedan. I bought this car in September 2003 and have driven it daily ever since. It has been very reliable for me and gets great mileage with a fresh oil change and new filters. The mileage ranges from 22 mpg on average up to 25 mpg with new fuel filters and a frexh oil change. I have always kept up on oil changes and fixed or replaced whatever was needed on the car over the past few years. I had a vacuum modulator professionally installed recently by Beach Benz in Huntington Beach to control the ignition switch as the car would not shut off prior to that repair (common with these cars), the transmission had been rebuilt when I bought the car and it has recently been serviced by Beach Benz- I have all receipts. I installed a brand new master cylinder and new pads/rotors about 6 months ago. I have also installed new window bushings for the rear doors but the driver's side rear window needs a new motor, so that window is temporarily propped up in place. This car drives well, shifts well, but does need to have the front tires rebalanced. I had the front end aligned but the front suspension needs to be rebuilt and it is starting to wear the front tires a little bit. This car was originally owned by Eddie Delahousse, the famous horse jockey, and I am the third owner after buying it from an older lady in Redlands. The color is Champagne on the outside with tan and black interior. The son of the lady I bought the car from had the paint re-clearcoated and it is now peeling. Overall, the car looks good and drives nice. ************This car is a perfect candidate for the BIO=DIESEL CONVERSIONS that are becoming more and more popular these days considering the costs of gas and diesel fuels*************** Please ask any and all questions before placing a bid. I have this car listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction early. thanks and good luck! The front seats are power and do not move when you use the switch. I replaced the driver's side seat switch on the door a few months ago in hopes of fixing it but it still does not work. The clearcoat is peeling as I mentioned before but the car still looks presentable for a daily driver. The sunroof works great. The dash needs a few bulbs replaced and the tachometer has never worked since I have owned the car. All other gauges work perfectly however- gas, temp., battery, oil, speedometer all work. The car has a newer CD/amfm player with the original speakers that still sound fine. The original leather seats are in okay condition- no major rips or tears, just some usual wear from a 26 year old car, the rear seat stuffing is a little flat but still comfortable. I think I have described this car as accurately as possible, but if you have any questions, please ask me BEFORE BIDDING...and I will answer asap. Thanks...
