Up for sale is my personal driver, a headturning,gas saving(35 miles per gallon on the highway!) 1998 Mercedes Benz c230. In 98, the C Class received a facelift with updated rocker moldings and bumpers,interior and a better transmission....the 98-00 W202 C Class Mercedes are known to be one of the most dependable MB produced in recent years. Furthermore, this one has ALL of the service records since new. Originally from California, this one wasnt brought to midwest till last year and has had 45k miles put on it since then(carfax will back this up). currently has 166k miles and counting...the mileage will be slightly higher as it is my current daily driver. These cars run forever with proper maintenance and this one has had everything taken care of when it needed it. The way this car looks and drives, you would guess it to have 1/3rd of the miles. Currently on the car are a set of black Borbet Racing wheels with newer tires but the stock wheels and tires will come with the car. Clean and clear title in hand for a fast transfer. Must see/drive to appreciate
Vehicle Condition Report:
Exterior: This car has received the utmost of car in its upkeep and it really shows. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer C230 under $9k! After a thorough inspection, the only flaws are the following: crack in the base of the windshield(not very noticeable while driving but it is there), a scratch on the bottom part of the passenger side front bumper, an indentation on the drivers side front bumper and a small dimple on the passenger side door(will come out with a good paintless dent repair service). This car is in the condition you would expect of a much lower mile car to be in that was well taken care of...no dissappointments. The factory silver paint is very glossy and there is not a speck of rust anywhere. The Borbet wheels are in great structural shape but the paint is kind of dull. The tires are all in good shape and have about 65% tread life left all around(transferred them from a previous car i had). no issues there as well. I would rate the exterior a 92/100, with 100 being "showroom" new.
Interior: The interior of this rare car is in excellent condition. All electronics work as they should. Air conditioning blows ice cold and the heater/heated seats warm up the car VERY quickly. Leather is in excellent shape with no damage/wear. Dash/panels/gauges are all in perfect shape with the only flaw being the missing "TEL" button(telephone) on the factory cassette player. I would rate the interiors condition a 95/100.
Mechanically: Mechanically, this car is fully maintenanced and ready to drive anywhere. The only mechanical issue i can find is that when starting the car, you first have to "prime" it once by turning the key to the "on" position before cranking it over once. Aside from that, this vehicle runs and drives great, no leaks,no odd noises....i wouldnt hesitate to drive this car from one coast to the other.
