Vehicle Description 1967 Mercury Cougar Standard Coupe. A-code 289-4V (NOM), wide-ratio 4 speed, manual drum brakes, power steering, tilt steering wheel (not original), styled steel wheels (not original). CAR HAS NOT RUN IN 4-5 YEARS. Straight body with no rust. No rust found in floors however, there is some starting in the trunk (not too serious at this point). All exterior trim is present (parts missing in photos are included). Chrome has pitting, but all is straight and useable. Taillight lenses are good and have Shelby rings. I have at least one set of correct taillights that go with the car. Also have extra grille/headlight assemblies. I added a Solid State taillight unit and the sequential lights worked when I stopped driving it. Interior has good headliner and seats (all redone some time ago, but in good shape). Most other interior parts will require restoration or replacement. Engine was in need of a rebuild when I stopped driving her. All other mechanical components were in good working order. Please be aware: You cannot come to my house, fire her up, and drive off into the sunset. WILL NEED TO BE TOWED. This car has been sitting for some time and will need the gas tank and fuel lines cleaned or replaced, some or all gaskets replaced, all fluids exchanged, brakes inspected, etc. just to be driveable. Ideally, this car needs a complete mechanical overhaul, at a minimum. Tires hold air, brakes function and transmission shifts for placing it on a trailer. Front springs were cut and a leaf removed from each of the rear springs to lower the car a bit. I always meant to change this, but never got around to it. Please don't ask how many miles are on it. I have no idea. Trim Tag Information: VIN:7F91A562538 Body: 63A Color: T Trim: UD Date: 03B DSO: 53 Axle: 1 Trans: 5 I know the A stands for the 289 with 4bbl carb; axle code 1 is 3.00:1 ratio, non-locking; transmission code 5 is wide-ratio 4 speed. I believe that color code T is Cardinal Red and trim code UD is Parchment, but don't hold me to that. Car is located in Glendale, Arizona and will need to be picked up at my house. I welcome you to come see it before the auction ends. Feel free to email for specific photos, I'll do my best. Car has clean Arizona title. I require a $500.00 deposit within 5 calendar days of the close of auction. Balance due within 14 calendar days. The car can remain at my house for 30 days free of charge, if necessary. I will not release the car, nor sign over the title until full payment has been made. Please, do not bid if you have no money or otherwise have no intention of buying this car. I HATE PAYPAL. I do have an account though. If you really like using their service, I'll accept it. However, buyer is responsible for all of the unreal fees that they charge, so keep this in mind. I prefer cashier's checks or money orders. My zip code is 85308, for shipping purposes. I appologize for anything that I have forgotten. I have owned this car since 1993 and have gotten older, just as she has. I tried to be as accurate as possible. Make no mistake, this car needs a fair amount of work, but it would be well worth the effort. I've been playing with Cougar's for over 20 years now, and I can tell you with no doubt, the 4 speed cars are very rare. Reserve is $2500 and I am going to let the auction run to the end. Again, feel free to ask questions and request more pictures. Thanks and Good Luck! On Jul-04-08 at 11:00:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Have 2 passenger and 1 driver-side grille/headlight assemblies; 3 taillight assemblies plus the chrome grilles from the 2 on the car; 1 center grille section. Also have original air cleaner and smog parts (see added pictures).
