Vehicle Description
Up for auction is a 2001 Mercury Cougar. I bought the car in April of 2004 with a salvage title and front left damage. I repaired the car and got a prior salvage title and was driving it later that year with 39,000 miles. It now has 81,000 miles and I havent had a single problem with the repaired parts.
I had the fuel pump replaced under recall last summer as well as new tires at 75,000 miles. The EGR valve and sensor, a power steering line, fuel filter, the water pump and spark plugs and wires have been replaced in the last year. Last summer I hit a racoon and had to replace the front bumper cover, left fog lamp, and the A/C condensor as well as the various plastic pieces under the front and the front wheel wells.
The car is equipped with a drivers center which includes fuel mileage, miles to empty, outside temperature, and the trip odometer. It has cloth seats and a CD/ tape player that is stock. The car has four disc brakes, a power sunroof, and a rear spoiler. It also has front and side airbags, four wheel anti-lock brakes, and traction control.
Over the years the car has accumulated some minor dings and paint chips from other cars which is expected with a seven year old car. The silver paint on the drivers side has a little discoloration that is visible at different times.
Overall the car is a good daily driver that gets around 30 mpg, and when its washed up it still looks good.
