I think ebay hates me. The auction was ended by ebay because I said that the remaining balance can be paid in c#sh when picked up. Aparently I cannot use that word in a listing. Anyway, for all those who were watching the car here it is again. As for payment method, a money order is for the deposit. When the is picked up the balance can be paid in 'dollars'. Maybe they wont boot me for that word.
This is a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT “H” code (351C 2V) car. I am selling the body only, NO ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION. This car has a very good body, better than most I have seen. There are tons of great parts on this car if it were to be parted out. I have been watching Cyclone parts sell on ebay. If I parted the car out for the prices I’ve seen the parts sell for, the car would bring $4750 in parts with a shell to sell to the scrap yard when I am finished. I do not want to part this car out. These cars are getting too hard to find. I am selling this car with a buy it now of $3500 and a reserve of $3000. How much easier can that be, you know the reserve. If the car does not reach the reserve I will get the plasma torch out and start cutting.
I will hit the high and low points in this description but will use a link to photo bucket and 73 pictures found there to describe the car best. http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee191/racemaster33/
The body on this car is amazing! There appears to be a very small amount of filler in the driver rear quarter section. I don’t think it was from rust, but maybe a dent. The quarters look good enough to cut off and use on another car. The exterior of the doors look excellent as well. There is rust hole through the inside, front lower corner of the doors. The front fenders are also great. The hood has a less than average area of rust under the lip on the passenger front corner. The rest of the hood looks great. The inner fenders and shock towers are also great. Under the car is the most impressive part. The bad part is that the floor and trunk pans are totally gone. However the frame rails, torque boxes and inner rocker panels look like new. I have thought long and hard about the condition of this car and have come to the conclusion that the water must have come down from the top, not rusted up from the bottom. I’m guessing that the floor pans sat full of water until they rusted through. If it had rusted from the bottom up the frame rails would have been rusty as well as the lower sections of the exterior sheet metal. I peeled a portion of the vinyl top back to see what the metal looked like and it’s got a couple of patched areas, which supports my theory of the water intrusion.
This is a power steering, power disc brake, air conditioning car. All of that stuff will stay with the car. The only things I am taking are the engine and transmission, THEY DO NOT COME WITH THE CAR. This car has a full console. The ash tray is not shown in the console pictures but in another picture. The console is in above average condition. The passenger door panel is in excellent condition including the Cyclone emblem. The driver door panel is showing some wear around the window crank, but otherwise in good condition as well. The Cyclone emblem in the steering wheel has some cracking. The radio hole has been modified for a larger size radio. The front seats are in good shape other than needing a new set of covers. The back seat is very nice. All the seat belts appear to be there as well. The grill is above average. There are 3 or 4 small fins broken out of the side of the center section, which is an easy fix. I haven’t seen a grill this good in a long time. I have never seen this car run or any of its parts function. You are looking at it just how I bought it.
I could go on and on telling you about this car but the best thing you can do is go to the link I have attached and look at my photo bucket. There are 73 pictures of this car from most any angle as well as with it in the air. Those pictures should answer all the sensible questions you can come up with.
I had hoped to use the pans and gas tank out of one of my Torino’s and fix this car. I have come to the sad realization that I have more projects than I can handle right now and simply want to get my money back out of this car.
Please do not start asking me to sell you certain parts. If this car does not bring $3000 or the buy it now of $3500 I will then start parting the car out and put each part on ebay one at a time. Each item will sell at auction, not to an individual.
Once again,
This car has a reserve of $3000.
This car has a buy it now price of $3500.
I will not answer emails for requests for parts off this car.
This car comes with a BILL OF SALE ONLY.
This car is being sold for parts and must be hauled on a trailer.
This car DOES NOT RUN and cannot be driven home.
This car is being sold with no engine or transmission.
