You are bidding on an indredible example of an unrestored original 1969 Mercury Marauder. This car is truely an amazing time capsule.
1) Engine/transmission: The engine has a rear main seal leak. I replaced the origanal rope seal but the neoprene seal did not dry it up completely. The rod and main bearings are original and look good, date stamped 8/1968. It appears the engine has never been opened up until I did the rear main seal last summer. I serviced the transmission last month and it shifts great and there were no signs of material in the pan.
2) Differential: Origanal and makes no noise.
3) Suspension: New shocks and brakes. The upper control arm bushings are worn. It drives straight down the road and has no tire wear so I have not bothered replacing.
5) Interior: The interior is like new with the exception of the carpet having a couple wear areas. Look at the pictures and you will agree it is remarkable for a almost 40 year old car to have survived in this condition.
4) Exterior: Again, the pictures speak for themselves, it appears to me this is origanal paint but I could not state this as fact. I do not see any signes of body work, paint overspray etc. It is not perfect but extremely nice.
Everything works on the car with the exception of the am radio which cuts in and out periodically. Remember, this is an unrestored car which is extremely rare. The old saying goes, a car is only original once!! Please contact me with questions. This car is a 40 year old origanal and is sold "AS IS" I would not hesitate to drive it accross the country myself, but the fact remains it is a classic car with many origanal parts.
I am in Mesa Arizona, so if you are in the vally feel free to contact me and come take a look. (480) 807-0700
