This RHD (right hand drive) car was restored to a VERY HIGH standard about 6 years ago. This is NOT A RESHELL or a FAKE Cooper S like a lot of other cars I have seen in the past. The car was restored in Australia and then it was imported here to be sold. My freind bought it 4 years ago and I purchased the car from him recently. When this car was restored it was brought back to standard spec. the only aftermarket items are the electronic distributor, Minilite replica alloy wheels and a aftermarket tachometer (easier to read at night than the standard Smith's tach) Everything else is factory. The floors are original and the car started out as a rust free car before the restoration because it came from Australia which has a very dry climate. There are no patches on the floors, no detectable body work and the paint is nearly perfect with only a few chips that have been touched up (they are so small I would have to point them out to you). The body work on this car is absolutely PERFECT. There are no scratches or dings anywhere on this car. The engine has been rebuilt to it's original 75 HP specification with new pistons, new rings, new gaskets and bearings. Engine is the correct engine that came with the car according to the original serial tag on the firewall. The engine # is : 9F/ SA / Y48106 and the id stamp on the block is pictured. The carburetors have been reconditioned as well as the original air cleaner housing. The engine runs VERY strong with good oil pressure (50 -75 PSI while driving), starts with ease, does not smoke and it will cruise at 70 MPH + with no sweat. The car is pretty quick (one of strongest stock examples I have driven) considering it only has 75 HP but it feels like it has more power because of it's light weight. The car has about 30,000 miles on the restoration and 79,000 + miles on the body. I would rate this car as a SHOW / DRIVER due to the fact that there is some wear on it. The interior was completely re upholstered and is perfect other than some wear on the driver side carpet where your heel would rest. (see pics for wear) The suspension is hydrolastic (wet type) as equipped when the car was sold new. Everything on this car has been replaced and or reconditioned. Recent maintenace performed was a oil / filter change and tune up (new ignition wires, distributor cap, rotor and spark plugs). This car is one of the best I have seen in a long time. I have owned 3 minis so I am no stranger to them. I am selling this car because my wife wants me to and I own another Cooper S that is being restored by Mincomp Racing in California. I would love to keep it but I have too many cars right now. If you want to own a VERY CLEAN Mini that is a GREAT show car / driver car this is the one. There are not too many cars like this and I am priced failry compared to what other Coooper S cars have sold for. Make no mistake you WILL NOT be disappointed with this original Cooper S. I get a lot of compliments on the condition of this car and the car itself. It is a real attention getter and it starts conversations with younger and older people everywhere I go in it.
