Up for auction is a Classic 1979 Austin Mini. It is truly a fun drive. The previous owner restored the engine (998cc) and fitted it with a stage one kit to give it a little extra punch. The engine and Transition are solid with no slippage or smoke. It also has chrome trim, fog lights, bucket seats and a roll bar, a common modification for extra protection.
After 29 years of use she could still use some touching up to restore her to her former glory. The body is in great shape with no major structural rust. The original Paint job is holding decently, a few patches of bubbling in a few spots. The front brakes were recently redone while the rears still function well. The original shocks are okay, they function well but a seem a bit stiff. The headliner is in good condition with no tears but has spots faded with age. Carpeting is newer. It's quite a head turner and you can't complain about the 40-45 Mpg. You are also almost guaranteed to find parking where ever you go. I recently drove her to the Bay Area from L.A and it handled well. Freeway handling would be great with new shocks and an alignment.
This car was recently imported from England and has all importation taxes and fees paid. It still has the M.O.T certification, the English emissions test, valid until Sep. 08' It should have no problem passing one here if need be. I have the title and bill of sale and ready for U.S registration in you home state.
I have fully described this car to the best of my ability, though I will try to entertain any questions. Serious inquiries only. My intentions were to finish restoring it myself but now I'm forced to sell due to a unexpected move. Be Quick! This car is also for sale locally and may end this auction early.
