Brighton Motorsports is pleased to present for auction this wonderful 1967 Morris Mini Cooper S. It sports Lake Green paint, a Snow White top and a Moss Green interior. This is a fantastic right hand drive example of the original Cooper S. This model is powered by the correct 76hp 1275cc 4cyl motor. It weighs 1535lbs and, thanks to the Hydrolastic suspension and the wheels out at the corners, handles so well you have a hard time staying in your seat! The close ratio 4-speed manual shifts up and down through the gears smoothly and the motor runs strong and sounds great. This car was built and owned in Australia and has now landed on our shores to be used and enjoyed. Because of the heat in Australia, they started building their own doors with roll up windows as opposed to Italian and British Minis which had the sliding half-windows. We have several spare parts, accessories, and the original wheels with new Yokohama A008’s included with this fun machine. The exterior has had one high quality repaint and the interior is original and has held up extremely well over the years. This Cooper S also has been treated to some tasteful and practical upgrades including 10” Minilite wheels, wider Falken tires, a larger heater core, electric fan and a later model fully synchronized transmission that enables downshifts into first gear if desired. We even have the original tool used to adjust the hydrolastic suspension system. The odometer shows just over 56,000 miles and is believed to be correct. The ID numbers on this Mini are below. Car #: 3269 Chassis Type #: YKG2S2 – This decodes as being an Australian built Mini that could have either a 1098cc or 1275cc engine. Engine #: 9F/Sa/Y 46884 – This number is stamped on the engine and chassis plates meaning it’s the original 1275 S motor.
