Vehicle Description
For sale is a 1991 3000gt sl twin turbo. I bought this as a project car back in 2006 from it's 2nd owner. Last december I converted the car to a twin turbo. This is a full engine swap from a wrecked car.
Motor - ~95,000 miles
FWD Tranny - ~55,000 miles
Chassis - 216,505 miles
Rebuilt ECU - ~10,000 miles
Mods:
Ebay intake filter
TurboXS boost controller (set to 14psi)
Chrome Y-Pipe
Borla 3" catback exhaust
After market Faze boost gauge.
The bad:
Needs either a new water pump or a new set of o-ring seals for the pipe under the intake manifold. It's a pretty cheap fix either way.
Needs a new clutch. It's starting to slip after boosting over 8psi
Once all these problems are worked out, the car should run great. I've never had a problem with the way the motor runs. I recently took the getrag transmission out and replaced it with a fwd n/a tranny. It shifts great and haven't had a problem with it.
I've driven VR4's (awd twin turbo 3000gt) and have never found them as fun to drive as this car. At full boost from a roll, this car can take stock vr4's without any problem.
