Vehicle Description
1996 Marked the last year for the Z car in America after a 26 year production run. The final 300 cars were all labeled “Commemorative Editions” complete with a plaque on the dash and a diploma-style holder with a certificate hand signed by the president of Nissan North America. This gem, presented as new and well kept, is #214 of that group of 300. with only 10,680 miles on the clock it’s just about perfect!
The shape is unmistakable, this joint venture between Nissan’s design studios in Tokyo and California. This “basking crocodile” won many awards and from within and outside of the automotive press. The window sticker calls the car “The sports car of sports cars,” and there’s a good deal of truth to that hype. Handling, acceleration and braking are still perfectly in line with today’s cars and the lines haven’t aged a bit!
Hop inside—this car’s a five speed, just as a sports car should be. The cloth seats are day-one perfect as is the rest of the place. The Bose AM/FM cassette radio with power antenna really cranks out tunes, the power seat glides with precision, the gauges are clear and bright and the climate control and cruise control operate as they should. Shifting is nearly effortless thanks to a perfect clutch and well cared for transmission. This is an interior with no faults and plenty of toys like power windows and locks, heater power mirrors, full gauges and a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
The exterior of the car is nearly perfect, just as you’d expect a 10,000 mile car to look. The Cobalt Green Pearl paint looks fantastic day or night and is completely devoid of chips or scratches. The car looks showroom new! The wheels are very superb and bright with no rash, and are surrounded by the original 225/50/VR16 Michelin XGT V4 tires. The T-tops are also perfect with no scratches or chips, and all bulbs and lenses are great from the fog lights to the taillights. All glass is great and there aren’t any gashes or scratches in the ground effects.
The engine looks even better than it runs, which only happens when the miles are kept low and the car never sees foul weather. The intake runners are day-one perfect brilliant silver instead of yellow (the clear coat naturally dulls on high mileage cars.) A newer battery sits in the right rear corner for quick starts. Again, one more place with no issues and one more show winning aspect of the car! 222hp Get the car moving out with authority while still returning mid 20’s in the fuel consumption game.
Flip the car over to find mint sheet metal and all original components down to the nearly perfect exhaust. No damage, no rust; just the stuff that’s supposed to be there. The four wheel disc brake calipers and rotors are excellent, as well. Pop the trunk to find the same story—nice carpet, the spare and jack are there—just as it should be. A bright blue Nissan car cover’s there, as well—you could see it from space!
We’ve got the last 10 or so yearly emissions check papers from North Carolina, so it came from a nice sunny and warm mid Atlantic state. The full owner’s packet and the window sticker are here, too. We also have the original vehicle inspection form from 1996—I’d never even seen one of those before!
Opportunities to pick up a very low mileage, very well cared for, rare, five speed car are few and far between, ESPECIALLY if you’re hunting down one of the final 300! If you’re a Z fan you know how special this car is, and if you’re new to the brand you don’t know what you’re missing! This is a brilliant car that makes no missteps and looks fantastic. Pack it away or drive the wheels off of it—either way the car will put a smile on your face!

Since our cars are for sale in a number of other mediums, we reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. In fact, most of our sales come from sources other than Ebay.
