Features
Up for sale is my 1985 Nissan 300zx Turbo. Wonderful condition, runs perfectly. It starts every time without a problem, and is a joy to drive. Comes fully loaded from the factory with:
Power windows/doors/locks.
Digital dashboard with acceleration gauge, compass, engine temp. and oil pressure all in neon green.
Automatic climate control.
Functioning 'Betty' voice chip that notifies you when a door is open, e-brake is on, fuel is low, etc.
Power seats with air-pump operated adjustable lower back and side support.
Has since been upgraded with:
Keyless entry
Turbo timer (30 seconds or 2 minutes)
Remote start
Single disc CD player with remote control
New springs and shocks (1/2" lower), which have eliminated the characteristic 'lunge' that this generation Z has when taking off from a dead stop.
Aftermarket air intake
Medium window tint
Modification
All modifications listed above are for interior comfort and ease of maintenance. The turbo timer is why the original turbocharger is still functioning perfectly, and can be expected to for the life of the vehicle. The remote start is especially useful for cold days, and for allowing the engine to warm up before driving -- essential in extending engine life and avoiding the cold-start 'bucking' that these are known for. There have been no body modifications, noisy add-ons, et cetera. It is a very tastefully handled car, appropriate for a discerning collector. The car has been garaged and home-serviced for most of its life.
Vehicle Condition
This Z is in very good condition. See the pictures to verify quality of paint, window tint, trim and interior. I have kept the interior vacuumed, polished and neat for as long as I have had it. All instruments work except for the steering wheel cassette controls (there is no longer a cassette player), cruise control (see below), and adjustable shock absorbers (originals replaced). The belts are in good condition (see photo), and the tires have plenty of tread. Window and seat motors are still pushing strong. It recently had a new alternator installed. Recently cleaned and reinstalled the mass air flow sensor to improve cold-engine performance. Turbo cooler air pump still works perfectly once engine is stopped in hot weather.
The cruise control is not working, and I have not had the chance to get in there and figure out what's the matter. I drained the A/C to test for leaks and found one on the evaporator. The leak is not large, and if you were to charge the system without replacing the evaporator you should get a good year of cold A/C. I have the new part, and it comes with the vehicle. There are some small rust spots, which must be watched, but are rather minor for a car this age and in the normal spots for a 300zx (on rails in front of doors, two nickel-sized spots under hatch, and a couple small starting spots where paint is chipped, see photos). The front left fender is pushed slightly out of line from an improper lift. Nothing major, but you should know. See photos. The vehicle has passed both VA emissions and safety tests, with both up for renewal in about one year.
Additional parts
The car comes with the original leather seats, which have been removed to preserve the maroon leather. 300zx non-turbo beige seats are installed in the car with the best bladders and motor. I will also include a set of original Z rims with tires, evaporator as mentioned, an extra distributor w/wires, extra gaskets, a jack and jack stands, a pair of ramps, and some misc cleaning supplies. I am moving to Canada soon and cannot take any of it with me.
