1984 Nissan/Datsun 300zx 2 Dr, 2+2, hatchback, non-turbo, 5 spd manual transmission, 215800 miles, loaded w/ all available options (at the time) digital instrument panel, leather seats, power drivers seat, and t-tops. Z is light blue, original paint (a bit faded) with light and dark blue interior. Remember, this car is 24 years old, but she's still a beautiful car. Now for the bad... INTERIOR: The interior is decent, front seats are 8 years new, replaced with light blue leather identical to original leather, the center console needs recovering, and the dash is very weathered (as are most soft parts of the interior that have been exposed to the sun,) but the dash mat hides it well. (Beware though, it is damaged and weathered. It really should be replaced, or somehow recovered.) The headliner was removed about 1 year ago with plans to have it redone, but I never got around to it. T-tops are in excellent shape and have only been removed less than 5 times, but the t-top shades, and covers are missing. (They can be purchased on ebay for about $35.) The instrument panel is all digital, but the back lights of the fuel gage and trip odometer (Trip A Trip B) go out sometimes. The fuel gage is not much of an issue though, because the car talks, and tells you when the fuel level is low. At that point, you still have about 40 - 60 miles to go. (The car also talks to you when the parking break is on or the door is ajar.) The heater and defrost are excellent, very toasty in cold weather, but the air conditioning is temperamental. After driving a while, it sometimes quits for a short time and only uses the fan. I replaced the original radio/cassette with a Pioneer single disc CD/radio about 6 years ago. Although the antenna does not work, the radio receives decent reception. EXTERIOR: As mentioned, the paint is original, but faded. (Light blue, so the fading is not too obvious. But yes, it is faded.) The body is straight, starting to develop some rust, but never any accidents or dents. (I know this because this is a “family heirloom,” bought new in '84.) The back "300zx" red logo lens is chipped, and the rear hatchback struts are shot, but both of these items can be bought on ebay for about $40 each, new. As with many older cars, about 6 months ago the headlights stopped raising and lowering, so the "eyeballs" are stuck in the open position. As for how it drives, I've driven it as my main car for the past 15 years. It is reliable and fun to drive, but could really use some TLC. Again, it’s 24 years old, so it does have a few clunks, noises, and issues, and the cruise control does not work. This would be a wonderful car for someone who appreciates Z's and would like one to restore. NOTE: In the picture of the dash, the center of the steering wheel appears bright blue...it is not that bright, just "camera operator error." It matches the rest of the interior. Winning bidder will be responsible for shipping, or picking the car up. It is in Central Oregon, about 3 hours from Portland airport, 150 miles. I can drive the car to Portland if winner pays $150 delivery charge to cover gas and expense to get back home. PAYMENT: $300 via PayPal within 72 hours of close of auction, and remainder in cash when picking up the car. If shipping is arranged, I will accept a US certified cashier’s check for the balance, but it must be certified from a United States bank, and mailed via certified mail. I will not ship car until cashier’s check is completely cleared by the bank. Thanks for your understanding. PLEASE read this description a few times before bidding. I think I have included everything, but bidders should realize that this car needs some attention. It can definitely be a “daily driver,” but it needs some TLC to be a “wow!” Thanks for looking, and please feel free to ask any questions before bidding. Good Luck!
