1984 Nissan 720
Lowrider
Former Show Truck Features Full Air Suspension with On-Board Compressors Hook-Up for Compressed Gas Cylinders.
Suspension
All Airbags are controlled independantly from the cab.
Torsion Bars replaced with bags.
2" Dropped Spindles in Front
Leaf Springs replaced with Triangulated 4-Link in rear.
Custom frame notch protrudes into bed to allow frame to completely rest on the ground.
Truck can lay frame, go side to side, front to back.
Frame
Complete body off restoration. No rust or rot anywhere on this truck.
Custom center driveshaft bearing crossmember allows truck to lay frame firmly on the ground.
Custom frame notch allows rear axle to tuck up into bed.
Frame stripped, sand blasted painted with gloss black POR-15 (a rust inhibiting paint designed specifically for frames) to prevent chips. Looks great even driving daily.
Engine
Mostly stock 2.0 liter 4 cylinder.
Engine accessories painted red.
Custom exhaust header with custom exhaust exiting under the truck in front of rear axle pointed down.
Engine completely rebuilt. New head, remanufactured carbeurator, new water pump, distributor, plugs wires, etc.
Stock 5-speed tranmission. New Clutch.
Body
All emblems, handles, antennae have been shaved.
Custom Super Jet Black Paint job. With only a few scratches here and there. Truck has been in storage a few years.
Flush mount tonnuea cover with gas struts.
Molded rear roll pan.
Red underbody neon lights.
All air suspension equipment located in the bed. Floor of bed was cut out to accomadate frame notch.
Gas tank replaced with plastic fuel cell in the bed.
All lights, grill, front bumper body lines are stock.
Sliding tinted rear window.
Lower body line sits just a couple of inches off ground when suspension is lowered.
Custom Billet side mirrors
There is no rust anywhere on this truck.
Bed is from a 1986 Nissan 720. It was purchased new from a Nissan Dealer so there is no bodywork done anywhere except for shaving the handle.
Interior
New carpet.
Several Pieces painted red or black.
Grant Steering wheel.
Air bag gauges and controls.
Power windows door locks.
Interior is not the best feature of this truck but it is functional.
Story
Bought the truck in 1997. Completely rebuilt from the frame up. Went to several shows, won a few trophies, but really enjoyed driving around more than the show scene. This truck can be driven pretty much every day with minimal maintenance. In New Jersey, Historic Car registration can be granted to cars over 25 years old. This is a lot easier inspection process. Not being able to pass regular inspection has kept me from driving it recently. In 2009 it will be 25 years old and with historic registration it can pass inspection, even with altered suspension, which kept it from passing regular inspection. Needs a good going over, an oil change and maybe new wipers but it is mostly ready to go. I have moved onto a new hobby (boating) and would much rather see this truck be passed on to someone who can continue to enjoy it like I have.
