Vehicle Description
For your consideration is a 1965 Oldsmobile 442 which was one of my youngest sons cars before he suddenly passed away in a home accident 4 years ago. This car is a good daily driver as he drove it but it needs a complete restoration. The car is original except for the tachometer which he installed after the original console mounted bullet tach was stolen. I have purchased a very nice original bullet tach for this car which will go with it if it sells. I will remove the other tach. The car has a bit of paint peeling on the roof. I see no rust on the car and think this would be a perfect car to be restored. This car idles, sounds and runs great with a 4-speed and a positraction rear. I'm not sure the size of the engine as I'm a Chevy guy but I can try to decode it and list the info later. I have started the car up on a regular basis and it doesn't smoke a bit. The car has spent its last 4 years in my climate controlled garage. As I recall when I had it on my car hoist, it had some new front end pieces installed, I think tie rod ends, drag link and such but I'd have to look again. My son drove this car everywhere but she's waiting for someone to spend a few dollars on her to bring her back to her old glory. I know there are not many of these '65 442's out there any longer. If the vehicle sells, I would expect a non-refundable $1000 payment to PayPal and the balance in cash when car is picked up or shipped unless other arrangements are made. I have added photos of the trunk and undercarriage of the car. The trunk is solid but has surface rust where the gray color has chipped off. Of course, if the car was restored, this would be covered over as well.
