This 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was originally my unlcles car. He purchased the car brand new off the show room floor in 1976. My unlce passed away 26 years ago and the car has been sitting in my aunts garage up until last August when I assumed the vehicle. My aunt never had a drivers license but would go out to the garage and start the car occasionally. When I first aquired the Cutlass I put in a brand new Sears Die Hard battery, put some antifreeze in the resovoir, put a little gas in the carburator, one quart of oil, and it started right up. Since then I've had the following work done:
Changed the transmission fluid
New transfilter kit
New Oil Pressure Switch
New valve cover gasket
New distributor assembly
New ignition coil
New ignition distributor cap
New ignition rotor
Full Tune Up - 8 new spark plugs and 8 new spark plug wires
Steam cleaned the engine
4 Brand New Tires with a 60000 mile warranty
All work was done by an experienced professional. The car runs like new. As you can see from the pictures, there is very little rust. Mostly around the rear bumper. I'm told this is typical for this year and make. The front seats are ripped due to age and I'm missing one windshield wiper, and the passenger side mirror. I do have the mirror, as well as the windshield wiper. Both are in the trunk of the vehicle now. I am told this car can easily be in the World of Wheels with the right owner who's willing to put a little effort into it. I've received so many compliments on the vehicle, due to it being in such great condition, with the original paint job, and not having been restored.
