1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe bought last year from original woman owner in her ‘80s. Car was purchased new at Bob Curtis Olds in Torrance, California and was specially ordered by her husband. Built at the GM plant in Fremont, Calif, it has the 350 rocket V8 rated at 310 hp, 4-barrel carb, three-speed automatic, power front disc brakes, power steering, factory air conditioning, bucket seats, floor console, floor shifter, sport steering wheel, deluxe seatbelts, light group with underhood light and light in center floor console, SSI 14-inch rally wheels and…no vinyl roof! This car has the original blue Calif. plates and is in mostly original condition with 150,000 miles. She said it was never in an accident, has no patch or repair panels that I can detect and was repainted once years ago in the original Sherwood Green color. She used the car as a daily driver until she bought a second car in 1994. The Olds sat covered in her subterranean parking garaged and was used sparingly until 1999 when she just let it sit. I have had over $4,000 worth of work done in the past year and have receipts. This includes a new battery, new water pump, tune-up with plugs, points, wires, rotor and distributor cap, new front brake pads, rotors turned, brake and cooling system flushed, transmission serviced, 5 new Kelly white stripe radials, air conditioning serviced and recharged with R-12, new U-joints, new lower ball joints, upper A-arm bushings, front sway bar links and front alignment. I also just had a brand new, repro rear bumper installed that’s the 442 style with exhaust cutouts. Note that the car has single exhaust. I also had a vintage aftermarket 8-track player installed that plays through rear speakers mounted underneath the rear package shelf. The original AM radio works great through the front speaker under the dash. The car runs great and has plenty of power. I would not hesitate to drive it a long distance. It had a valve job many years ago and does not smoke or leak excessive amounts of fluids. The air conditioning blows cold and everything works with the exception of the clock. The windshield wiper switch occasionally sticks (have an extra used switch), and the inside mirror map light doesn’t work. It could use an exterior re-paint or you could drive it as-is. The paint looks better in the pictures than it does in person. There are many touched-up door dings on the driver’s side, there’s a light crease on the lower portion of the driver’s door, the upper left front fender had something spilled on it that made stain marks, there’s a small dent in the hood between the grilles and some other scratches, minor dings and chips as well as water marks on the horizontal surfaces. The pot metal trim on the car is corroded due to the ocean air. Rust is minimal for a 38-year old-car California costal car. There are some small spots on the lower rockers (see pictures). There was a water leak on the bottom of the rear window so I sealed with silicone (amateur job). The interior is in nice original condition. The driver’s seat needs to be recovered. The front passenger’s seat and rear seat are nice. So is the dashboard, which has no visible cracks but discoloration from the sun. While the car was on a lift at my mechanic, I inspected the front and rear floorboards and they appear to be very solid as you can see in the pictures. I have the original Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manual and some of the old service records. The car also comes with a custom-fit car cover and factory shop manual. I have described the car to the best of my ability. It’s not possible to list every flaw for a car this age so please ask questions before bidding. The car is sold AS-IS. The car has a clean California title in my name with the current registration sticker. It is exempt from smog inspection in Calif. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the winning bidder. Remember, this car is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied and no return. Your bid is a legal contract so PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY THE CAR. Bids from those with zero or excessively negative feedback are subject to removal. The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel the auction early. A non-refundable deposit of $500 via PayPal is required within 24 hours of auction end. The balance is due five days after the auction ends. I prefer that funds be bank wire transferred, but I will consider a bank draft or cashier’s check. The car will not be released until the check clears with the issuing bank. Thank you and happy bidding! On Jun-23-08 at 21:49:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that it's missing the underhood windshield washer plastic jar and cap.
