1957 oldsmobile super 88 4 door sedan, this is an original 79,347 mileage car, it came from lower part of Georgia. This car is solid as a rock, I was told and as far as I can tell, the engine and transmission has never been touched except for the intake and carb, as you will be about in a little bit. I was tolded this car had always been in a garage, and you can tell that is probably true by just looking at the pot metal on the car, very nice chrome and very little pitting. The original colors is like a gold and cream color with a red stripe between the stainless with the green interior, which was a very rare color combination. The outside of the body has been stripped and most of the small dents removed and primed in this purple color, I was going to finish the body work and paint it and then sell it but too many projects. So I put all of the stainless, headlights, taillights and bumpers back on the car, so you would know what it looked like with the trim on the car. All of the stainless trim is just beautiful. The floorboards are just unbelievable, there is a place on the driver side that has a patch panel, but you can tell it was not from rust, I believe something went thru the floor board years ago, so they cut out the rip thru and put a piece of metal in it’s place. The carpet was shot, so there is no carpet in the car, the headliner is there, but shot really. These cars are hard to find. This car has the 371 V-8 engine with the 3 speed automatic transmission. Now I was informed that all 57 olds either came from the factory with a 4 bbl carb or tri power, this motor has a 58 olds 2 bbl carb and intake on it. This car also has factory power steering and power brakes, This car floats down the road. The old white wall tires are old and they are bias tires, put a set of wheels and radical tires on this car and you have you’re a rat rod, I have been driving it on weekends and people pull up to me at a stop light ask what kind of car is this.. I still have the original hubcaps for the car, in the pictures, you will noticed a gold color rim on the rear, which is the spare, the 1 tire went flat on me so I put the spare on, but the other whitewall tire has been fixed and put back on the car and spare back in the trunk. The only thing missing is the original air cleaner, intake,. Carb and the wiper arms. The chrome on this car is all original and it looks great, the rear bumper could use a replating. The only glass that is bad is the front windshield has a crack on the wrap around part on the lower pass,. Side. The only things that is not working on the car that I know of is the wipers, the vacuum lines are disconnected, and the gas gauge is not working, the clock is not running. All lights work. The only chrome pieces that is missing is the front fender emblems that saids super 88, am I broke 1 of them. This car also has a set of backup light housings, needs new lens, right now it has the stainless block off plates where the backup lights would go. The only problem with the driving of the car the right front wheel is pulling to the right if you put on the brakes real hard. The 57 olds is located in Milan tn, which is in west tn.
