Vehicle Description
For your consideration .. a beautiful clean 1976 Olds '98 Hearse...... which has 'Collector Plate Status' here in Vancouver BC.
I did have the hearse listed here on ebay recently..but had a high reserve that wasn't quite met. I suppose deep down, I really didn't want to sell it at the time, as she is such a cool ride. But sadly I've lost my special "long" garage for her...so have decided to relist with "No Reserve" and let you decide what it's worth
Experts have told me that 1975 was the last year that Cotner-Bevington made this style of hearse...but it must have been one of the very last ever to come off their production line as all the registration and paperwork are noted as 1976. This is a rare HEARSE. It's in remarkably well preserved condition with only a very few cosmetic issues. She has the 455 cu.in. engine... and I can assure you that there are no issues with that. She cruises quietly and effortlessly but when you need the power..it's right there! She has very good rubber with tons of tread and could easily be driven across the country with no problem. I've always kept her very clean and tuned so the gas mileage is excellent....atleast 25 miles to the gallon. She doesn't burn a drop of oil and is very tight, smooth and quiet. No knocks, pings or anything like that. She floats along on the highway like a jet.
Looks really neat while night driving with the exterior cabriole lights .Very sleek and quiet.
Original Deluxe Burgundy/Gold Brocade upholstery...in perfect condition
The funeral home that she came from in Alberta took very good care of her. There is a block heater installed just in case you live in a cold zone. Air conditioning is all present but not connected...but could be easily. It's all under the hood.
In the drivers cabin there is a zipper up in the headliner that has the original siren/lights electrical connector option that came from the factory. There is no indication, however, that the hearse was ever used as an ambulance. Small repairable simple 4" tear in rear door area headliner. Otherwise all perfect
Original AM Radio works perfectly but the clock is not ticking. Should be very easy to get it going again. Original jack and NOS complete gasket set also included.
The cosmetic issues are just some minor paint bubbling on one of the fender skirts and some on the drivers door and a bit under the rear door window. No floor rust. All original metal. No bondo etc.. The back window is leaking a bit and needs re-sealing.The windshield fluid appears to be plugged. That's it ! These few things could easily be remedied and are minor issues. Essentially the hearse is like new.
Last year I sold my 1950 Nash here on ebay to a California buyer. So I have experience with the shipping aspect and if your a US buyer I'll be glad to help you with all that. It's quite easy
Any comments or questions are welcome.
Important A Paypal deposit of 500.00 is required within 24 hours of auction end. I would prefer the balance to be paid by a US Bank Draft to avoid the extra Paypal charges.
Also: If you are a bidder with a ZERO feedback rating please contact me before bidding. Thank you
Good Luck!

I mean no disrespect, however.. I have a "0" feedback bidder in this auction. There have been several instances in my ebay experience where '0" feedback bidders turned out to be a problem.I hope this is not the case here. However, should this end up being the situation in this auction, rest assured the runner up bidder will be immediately notified that they can acquire the car for their final bid. Thank you

I have removed the "0" feedback bidder who, as suspected, was a bogus bidder. Bidding is now safe. No bids from "0" feedbacks will be accepted.Apologies for any inconvenience caused by that person. You can bid in confidence.
