Up for auction is this Vintage 1942 Seagrave Fire truck. I'm selling this for the owner who is 81 years old. Please ask all the questions you need to, but I will need some time to get the answers from him. The truck will run and drive with fresh battery's and gas but the brake pedal has gone soft so some brake work will need to be done. The owner restored the engine and other drive train components 10 or so years back. When you lift the hood to reveal the V12 Flat head engine the work that has been done is evident. The Fire truck is located in VISTA Ca. 92084. There is some surface rust around here and there but for a 42 it's in very good shape. The pictures I have show the truck without the doors we do have them and they are included. This Fire Truck is ready for a complete Restoration and is a good canidate for your home town parade. The owner was in the Voluntary Fire Dept back in the day. He tells me the truck was used in the Cuyamaca area. He has fond memories of this Old Gal as he refers to it and he remembers that when it was time to suit up and get it down the road this Gal could spin the tires with a full load of hose, water and firemen when he would pull out of the fire house. Jim is reluctant to let her go but he has come to realize that he will never get the chance to restore her and he knows that this is what she needs. We are all hoping for a good home for her and he knows that this truck will make the new owner very proud. Jim has a file of papers that go with the truck including some pictures and receipts of the work that has been done but the title and/or pink slip is not among the papers, So we will have to say that this truck is being sold as is where is and the new owner will have to do the DMV work. We will include a bill of sale only
