Vehicle Description
A piece of American Automotive History.
I am selling my beautiful 1974 Avanti, finished in Silver Metallic with Ox Blood Red Suede and Leather interior with Recaro Seats. It has only 2700 miles since restoration. I kept the Avanti in Beverly Hills and this car garnered much more attention in car crazy Los Angeles than even my Ferrari or my other muscle cars.
The car has been completely restored including the paint, drive train, wheels and tires. The engine and transmission alone was over $15,000. All receipts will be included.
The engine is a fresh 350 HO Deluxe Chevrolet Crate Motor. The engine has the Vortec cast iron cylinder heads. The intake and exhaust ports are very similar to the Corvette 350 LT1 heads. The carburetor is a Holley four-barrel, model 4160 600 cfm.
The transmission was professionally rebuilt and is a GM Turbo 400 unit.
The chassis includes 1986 type front and rear sway bars, Gas shocks, Six leaf rear springs, Hamilton Brake conversion with adjustable proportioning valve and 7" X 15" Magnum 500 wheels with new Firestone Firehawk SS Tires.
The air conditioning has been recently serviced including a new expansion valve and receiver dryer. There is a small leak in the system requiring it to be recharged, which will be done before auction's end.
The Avanti comes with Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, AM/FM Radio, 8-Track Tape Player and even a remote CB! The steering wheel is the Nardi Torino Wood model, and the dash and console is real woodgrain. The carpet is the origional period shag in very good condition. There is also a power sunroof, power windows, and cruise control.
The car is in overall very good condition throughout, ready to drive or show. The recent paint shines like a new car and the interior is beautiful with very little wear to the driver's seat. The chrome is excellent both inside and out. The electric sunroof opens and closes very well, needing just a little push at the very end to seal tightly.
If you have any questions I will answer quickly and supply additional photos as requested.
