Vehicle Description
Hello! This car is a 1970 Valiant Duster 2 Door Coupe. It has a 225 slant six, 3 speed auto transmission and 7 1/4 axle. It has non-power 4 wheel drum brakes and small bolt hubs. It is a non A/C car with manual steering.
Original CA car has factory paint, emblems and decals still visible. It has the rare and unusual 2 tone paint code - not a vinyl top. There are a few small dents and scrapes here and there but no rust anywhere. Every body panel is stock with no backyard bondo repairs! The drivers fender will be replaced before the the car is shipped. I have a '71 fender that is almost perfect and will be installed for no additional charge. Grille is nice but has some minor damage. I will include some grille slats for repair. Good H/L bezels and P/L lenses. Nice side markers. Nice trim. Glass is good. Nice taillights. Windshield has small crack near right hand wiper blade.
Underhood, the wiring is intact and complete, but there is no radiator, starter, carburetor or battery. This is how I got the car so I am unsure of the condition of the engine or transmission. Im a V-8 guy so I don't have the parts here to install to see if the engine will run. It has black oil in it and no visible damage.
Interior is complete but will need work. Nice guage cluster. Door panels are fair. Seats, carpet and headliner need restoration, column shifter is tight and solid. Parking brake is good. Brakes will stop the car but the master cylinder should be replaced. Seat belts are intact. AM radio is missing.
Overall this is a solid builder for a "back to stock" restoration or an easy V-8 upgrade. I have a correct V-8 K-member for $100 extra, $150 installed. It will need to be towed since it does not run. Doors close solid. Windows roll up and down like stock. Tires hold air.
CA DMV does not keep records past 10 years and this car has been off the radar longer than that. It will be sold with a Bill of Sale ONLY.
Remember - this is a 38 year old Duster with original paint! How many of these are out there? No rust and no hidden surprises. Back to stock or a Duster 340 clone - you decide!
